"Danny was awesome. He was punctual, extremely helpful, professional, and very knowledgeable. He did recess lighting in our living room, a dining room light fixture, a kitchen light fixture and a recess above our sink. He also did 2 bathroom fixtures and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. His communication and professionalism is unmatched and I would recommend him to everyone! Look no further and reach out to DAO Electric for your electrical needs."

"Excellent is every way. Leo was quick to respond to my initial voice mail , and was able to come a few days later to install new smoke/CO2 detectors, and a bathroom ceiling fan. He was knowledgable, professional and explained the process of the installations while he was working He has a very friendly personality as well. I highly recommend him!"

"Ray did a great job. He is professional, courteous, and timely. Ray cares about the quality of the work he produces. Ray wired a new room, installed recessed lighting, a ceiling fan, flood lights, and swapped out some older light fixtures to LED lighting. Ray takes the time to make sure you're satisified with how things are setup and works. Ray goes above and beyond when needed. I had a ceiling fan/light fixture that did not work as expected. After validating his work, he called the manufacturer to troubleshoot the unit. Ray found it was just the LED light which i was able to get from the store I purchase the fan from. Ray's thoroughness saved me from having to bring the whole unit back. I highly recommend Ray for your electrical needs. Ray does quality work at fair prices with a focus on maintaining a positive customer experience. Thanks Ray!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

Generally, a ceiling fan should be mounted at least seven feet from the floor in the center of your room with a wall clearance of around 18 inches. If your ceiling is more than eight feet high, it’s recommended by experts that the ceiling fan be mounted around eight to nine feet from the ground. This helps ensure a better quality of circulated airflow.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

No, a ceiling fan doesn’t have to be wired to a switch, but it’s often more convenient. You can use the included pull chain if your ceiling isn’t too high or install a remote module later, as they are a cheap, easy-to-install option that’ll let you control both the fan and light fixture.
