"We hired Cruz and his crew to install a backsplash in our kitchen. They did a great job and got the job done in the estimated time as well as with the correct amount of materials they had us buy for the job. Very friendly and clean crew. We will definitely be using them again if we have any other tiling needs and I have already sent a few people with tiling needs the contact information. Wish I could post the before and after photos, wonderful job!"

"Honestly - such a great experience. Vlad responded to my request within 30 minutes and was able to come over to give an estimate the next business day. He also was able to complete schedule the installation within one week . I shopped around and received several other quotes. The two other quotes were double the price and double the wait time. We were EXTREMELY pleased with the final result. They actually went above and beyond and did a few things that were not included within the original estimate (which they didnâ t charge us for). 10/10 recommend!"

"Jean did great job explaining what we needed to repair and we knew it is only a temporary fix of our bathroom tile. It buys us time until we can do a full remodel we are not ready for. They completed the project in two days allowing us to get back to using the shower in quick time. Would hire again. Reasonable price all things considered these days"

"D&R were great. They did an excellent job with this project, and the floor and walls looked like new, seamless connections and fine finish work. They installed a floor that would allow water to drain beneath the floor to avoid future damage. I was very satisfied and have had no leaks since this work was done."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

One major drawback of a concrete tile roof is that the material is heavier than most other roofing materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll need structural reinforcements for your home before you can install the roofing material. Concrete tile roofs are also twice as expensive as asphalt shingle roofs, so even though they last much longer, you’ll see higher up-front costs and lower overall value from concrete roof tiles.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

A cement backer board is not needed for laying tile on concrete. Sometimes referred to as a cementitious backer unit, or CBU, backer board should be used if the subfloor is plywood or OSB. The backer board provides a base on which to install the tiles that isn’t as likely to be damaged by any accidental water seepage as natural materials would be.

Poured-in-place terrazzo flooring is more durable than tile. In fact, it’s one of the most durable types of flooring on the market. It can last anywhere from 40 to 100 years, depending on maintenance. On average, you can expect your terrazzo floor to last about 75 years, but you will have to make repairs as needed.

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.
