Our project went quite smoothly, staying on schedule thanks to the fact that my office is in the house and Scott's commitment to providing a foreman. This enabled us to make decisions quickly and address problems promptly. Scott and his crew showed a lot of creativity in meeting our requirement to stay in the house during the renovation, to the extent of setting up a temporary kitchen and shower in the basement. In the end, we only had to be out of the house for about a week. He was also very good about coordinating with our architect and the cabinetmaker that we selected ourselves. Having heard a few horror stories of renovation cost overruns, I think we also did well in this respect. Our final figure was about 10% more than the initial estimate due to the kind of unforeseen issues that can be expected on any such project, along with a few changes that we ordered. The level of detail Scott provides in his constantly updated spreadsheet also helped us to make some decisions that reduced our cost."

He was able to accomodate the design needed for additions in my 1949 Cape Cod style home, as well as redesign on the interior. He lived more than an hour away, but was willing to travel out to my home for measurements! This was a huge plus. He was able to coordinate the printing of blueprints, so I could pay for them and have them sent to my home, since he lived a distance away. "After receiving several estimates, we went with John's because his pricing was competitive, the estimate was very thorough in describing what was included and, given the scope of our job, we felt having Lisa Bierman (landscape architect on staff) working on the job was a big added value. From the beginning John and Lisa were very responsive to estimate inquiries. They were both very involved with the project from start to finish and I always felt in very good hands. Their staff was prompt, curteous, hard working and did quality work while always cleaning up at the end of the day. Admittedly, I'm not the easiest person to work for or please as I always expect a lot of bang for my buck. I usually find contractors in all fields to taper off in responsiveness towards the end of a project and disappear after completion if I try to ask an questions. Not John and Lisa. A month and a half after completion of the project, they have returned to replace sod in a couple of places that didn't make it, tweaked the sprinkler system at our request and have answered all maintenance questions I've thrown at them. I'm beyond impressed with John's Landscaping and would absolutely recommend them to everyone I know and use them again if I ever have another outdoor project."
