"Vista started this job 9/17. From the beginning we were told by the salesman Eric and project manager Keith that the job would be finished to our satisfaction, all our concerns would be addressed. The roofing went well, we are pleased. The siding was a bigger job than they seemed prepared for. They removed wood siding and replaced rotten plywood. The siding looked fine except for an area in the front of our home which is vertically uneven. Holding a straight edge to the siding we have a one inch gap in the vertical level which was not properly prepared. Some our window frames are horrible. One of them has nails driven right in the center of the frame, others have gapping joints and one is wavy. They replaced our perfectly fine topped gutter with a 'top of the line' gutter which isn't topped so is now full of leaves. We live in the woods what were they thinking? At the signing of this contract our salesman Eric said he would do some porch screen framing and stain our new front door. He wanted payment of $600 stating this was his side job. After many, many phone calls, most being ignored, we have gotten no where. Brian Rudd finally came out and told us these problems would be corrected. Last we heard from him was 11/17. He emailed that the siding crew would be out that week to correct window trim. We never heard from or saw any of them again. They never installed the stove vent, stained the front door or corrected our siding issues. I've waited for spring thinking I would hear from them. Too bad, things started out well. Not a good company."

This project was a long time in the making. I'd been contemplating a kitchen remodel for what seemed like forever. After discussing my plans with Richard, I was finally ready to make that jump.

The projected started out like gangbusters. Old kitchen was in the dumpster in a day. Once the cabinetry was delivered, the installation began the following day. That's when things started to get interesting. About a dozen pieces of my cabinetry order was damaged. I am very appreciative that the installers was considerate of the situation and got me involved immediately. I was hands off for the most part while Richard dealt with the designer and vendor. Richard kept my hands clean until a decision needed to be made. For that, I'm thankful. As a customer, you're just looking for resolution and not all the stuff in between. At least that's my attitude anyways. After getting all the material square away, Richard got all the installers lineup up again to get the work sequenced like we originally agreed to. We had an extremely open and constructive working relationship between him and me and the installers. What I thought was cool and substantially beneficial are their opinions (I'm still right about the recessed lights :o) ). From Richard to the carpenters to the electrician to the mason, everybody had thoughtful ideas to add that extra flair to complement the vision I had for the project. Just simple and thoughtful ideas like to remove a section of a baseboard heater. Not just because it was old and ugly as all get out but it open the walkway (behind my peninsula) from my kitchen to my den. Or using leftover material to create additional detail. Nothing is more gratifying in a project than to work with people who are in sync with what you're trying to do rather than going of the reservation. "Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Norman and his staff were attentive and friendly throughout the whole process. We were given a quote and then took some time to get other quotes and secure financing. When we were finally ready to commit we let WTPI know and they had our furnace installed within a week! A few days later when the system needed to be balanced Norman was out that afternoon to get everything set up. He is very knowledgeable and made the whole process very comfortable and enjoyable. I signed up for an Angie's list back splash tiling deal. I didn't quite understand the intricacies of choosing tile and installing it.  I picked a somewhat elaborate pattern with natural stone tiles. I wanted what I wanted, and Brian and Sam worked with me to get the result and I agreed to pay a supplement to the big deal which I found very fair.
I appreciated that they consulted me if they had any questions about exactly what I wanted (e.g. precisely where to put the medicine cabinets, how to finish the tile where it ended at the edge of wall). I'm happy with these solutions.  They also came up with some very creative solutions around the kitchen window that really enhance the tile work. 
We discussed the merits of fully replacing the staircase vs saving the wood that was discolored but generally in good condition.  Overall, the cost was the same, but I appreciate the option to send less building materials to landfill and get a good result.
They were going to install the fireplace granite tile, and they ultimately did not do this as their specialty is in smaller ceramic tiles, and the 24" x 24" stone tiles I purchased needed equipment they don't have.  I really appreciated discussing this.  I think it will be much easier to have someone who specializes in stone to complete this part of the job because Sam did all the hard prep work.
I feel that the team was generally very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves. The only thing I wish I would have done is draped my furniture and made sure various doors were closed - it's a much bigger clean up job than I expected, and I might have been able to avoid some of it.  On the plus side, that part of the house has undergone an early spring cleaning!  And I know that half of the dirt preceded this project.
The project was completed exactly when promised, with allowance for a snowstorm at the start. I gave a B for punctuality because I did get up early to make sure the snow was cleared from the driveway and they arrived later than planned.  I have had the experience more than once that contractors don't show up for days, so an hour or two is a small matter for me, but I note it because if you needed to get to work yourself or something like that, you would probably want to be sure to have a clear agreement.
I look forward to another project with A Few Good Tradesmen.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

My Project Manager was Kevin Q. He contacted me the same day I called to get an estimate on repairs in my home. Set up a appointment the following week. Kevin arrived at my home on time and was very polite and professional. Kevin looked at each job I wanted completed, taking notes and measuring. Received estimate the same day and signed contact to have the work started. All prices for materials and labor were outlined and listed on the estimate for each item that needed to be repaired or installed. The estimate was a better price than I had received from 2 previous companies. As each job was completed I was able to inspect it and make sure it was what I wanted and looked good in my house. All jobs were completed quickly and I was very pleased with the service, professionalism and overall effort to keep the costs affordable.  I was provided with all receipts for any materials purchased.  I would highly recommend LSI, the staff is professional and efficient. My project manager Kevin was organized, knowledgeable and hardworking.   LSI is a One Stop Shop and a great resource for getting many different odd jobs big and small and repairs all done with one job.
