We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumer's needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction, from the start to the completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every client in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"David did a great job clearing out clogged drains on mini splits and servicing all 7 units and 2 condensers. The amount of time he spent and thoroughness was clearly a step above the prior maintenance. Now we know what really needs to be done to keep the units working well, and recommend Forest Hills HVAC for any mini split system. Only drawback was that we got bumped a few times for emergency calls. We were not an emergency because we did have some functional units, so it is fair that we had to wait. If it was an emergency, I could have paid the emergency fee and gotten work done more quickly."

18 Years in Business Gervais Mechanical Service LLC is a fully licensed, local, family-run business. With more than 100 years of combined experience, we strive to bring our customers exceptional repair and installation services they can rely on. We offer turnkey solutions for both residential and commercial customers — no job is too large or complex for our expert team.

"Absolute ripoff, along with shady business practices. They were prompt and courteous, but that's about it. The technician came and had to replace a $200 part on my boiler, it took him under an hour to do the work. A simple Google search showed at least 10 places to buy the exact part, all around $200. No other parts were needed for this repair, I researched what is involved. I was charged almost $1000, including their $89 diagnostic fee just to walk in the door. So apparently it's a $600+/hour labor rate? I'm obviously in the wrong line of work. This was not an off hours emergency call either, it was a scheduled appointment in the middle of a weekday. The shadiest part of the entire thing was that on the invoice (that they email you later) they bury all the cost, it's not itemized i.e. labor vs parts cost. It just says replaced (part) = $1000. A super scummy and shady way to run a "professional" business, taking advantage of people who don't know any better. I wouldn't be surprised if they also sell used cars. Never again Gervais. You've all been warned."

For emergency services, please call 781-933-6387. N.E.T.R., Inc. is here to help homeowners install the best heating and cooling systems that fits their needs. Since 1989, we’ve installed heating and cooling systems in Boston and its surrounding areas, tackling tough problems that our clients face. Our goal is to ensure our clients have energy efficient, quiet, reliable systems so they can live their lives to the fullest both at home and at work. Our dedication to our customers’ needs is what drives us each and every day. Our approach to temperature control and comfort has helped us become one of the most respected names in heating, cooling, and refrigeration in New England

"Before installing a mini-split, the sales person told me that I'd need to cut down an interior shelf to a specific height. I paid a handyman $400 to do exactly what the sales person instructed. Later on, N.E.T.R. came and did the installation; however, AFTER the installation, a technician told me that they hadn't accounted for the vent opening and closing and that the shelf would need to be further cut down. As you can imagine, this type of service is rather ridiculous. If they knew that the shelf would need further cutting, they should have NOT installed the unit. I have called N.E.T.R. six (6) times in three weeks, and no one has called me back about this issue. After paying for the unit and for a handyman, it's ridiculous that I have AC that is compromised because no one with the company thought to properly measure the space so that the work by the handyman could be done once. At this point, I'd like for N.E.T.R. to take care of this for me."

A central vacuum is a permanent vacuum system that's installed throughout a building. It uses a central motor to suck dust, dirt and allergens through PVC pipes into a collection unit. A central vacuum's motor unit is usually located in a basement, garage, or utility room. A network of PVC pipes runs through the walls of the building and inlet valves are installed in walls throughout. To clean, plug a lightweight hose with cleaning attachment into an inlet valve. We have been in business for over 30 years. We solve problems and tackle projects that others have tried and failed. We are professionals who do one thing and one thing right and we are the best at what we do.

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

One advantage of a central vacuum system is that it can last for a very long time, especially when it’s well-maintained. You can expect a high-quality system to last at least 20 years. At this time, you may need to replace the main power unit, but the central vac system can continue functioning with new parts.

Technically, yes, you could install a central vacuum system on your own, but it is a very difficult DIY. There is a significant amount of planning, cutting into walls, and electrical wiring work that goes into it, which should only be performed by a professional. Because of the difficulty and expense associated with a central vacuum system, it’s worth it to hire a professional company familiar with the installation's complexities.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.
