Customers say: Quality work

"I had an excellent experience with Tom. He called back with in minutes of my requesting a quote for the job. We made arrangements to meet 2 days later so he could look at what the job entails. He showed up on time discussed exactly what I needed and quoted a very reasonable price. The job was wiring power outlet and cable pass through for a new TV. TV was actually delivered a week earlier then originally planned and Tom was willing to come out the day before delivery so Tv could be installed day of delivery. The work was neat and professional done and I am very happy with the final result. I highly recommend Tom for all your electrical needs, if I could have given him 6 stars I would have."

"Mike from A&B electric did an excellent job on what I consider a complicated project. The project required conversion to 220V, sub-panel installation, external receptacle, switch, and device wiring; I'm delighted with his attention to detail, customer service, and overall execution."

"Joe did a fantastic job installing our new exterior sconces. Fox several recessed lights in our kitchen and updated them. He installed a wireless three way switch in our kitchen that none of the contractors would touch. He very knowledgeable and worked with us to keep the cost manageable. I highly recommend him for any electrical project"

"Electrical baseboard was not working in living room or kitchen. Mark from Durocher Electric was able to confirm that the units were receiving electric current, and were then working properly. Also a second project checking a ceiling light fan combo where the light was not working. Mark determined that a part in the light fixture was burned out. A new fan/light fixture was put in by Mark. Excellent job on the two projects."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Holden should prioritize a professional panel inspection, install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, and ensure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are hardwired as required. Upgrading to energy-efficient LED lighting and programmable thermostats improves comfort and energy efficiency. Preparing wiring for future EV charging or backup generators can also help adapt your home to changing needs.

Helpful?

Electrical work in Holden may impact interconnected systems like HVAC, sump pumps, or home security. Signs such as flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or inconsistent heating can indicate strain on your home wiring. Consulting a local professional to evaluate your electrical load and integration with other systems ensures everything operates efficiently and meets MA code requirements.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Holden enhances comfort by addressing local needs like efficient heating controls for cold winters and improved home wiring for older properties. Upgrading to LED lighting increases energy efficiency and visibility during long nights. Adding surge protection helps safeguard electronics from storm-related outages, while smart home features and EV charging stations make daily routines more convenient and future-ready.

Helpful?

The timeline for electrical projects in Holden varies by scope. Simple outlet installations typically finish within a few hours, while panel upgrades may take up to two days, factoring in permit approval and inspections. Whole-house rewiring can require up to a week. Weather delays or contractor scheduling, especially during winter, may extend project durations beyond initial estimates.

Helpful?

Electrical projects in Holden benefit from seasonal maintenance due to humid summers and snowy winters. Homeowners should schedule annual electrical panel checks before winter, inspect basement wiring for moisture issues after spring thaw, and test GFCI outlets monthly. Outdoor lighting and outlets should be checked each season to ensure they withstand freeze-thaw cycles, which are common in the region’s climate.
