"I recently had an old deck removed and replaced with a stone patio. The portion of my house where the deck previously contacted my house needed replacement shingles. Despite rainy weather conditions the day of the job, Bob was able to get the job done. I would highly recommend him."

Small jobs welcome

"They are able to do whatever I need help with and understand the job. They are always careful with my stuff and they don't leave me with a mess to clean up, they're not bumping into things and breaking stuff, as my place is fairly cluttered. They take the time to listen to what needs to be done, communicate well and explain and show what they did when they're done. And make sure it's exactly what I needed to have done. Techs are always nice, friendly and helpful. Katie is always wonderful to deal with and very understanding about my needs due to my health issues. It is always easy to schedule and I appreciate they let me know when they are heading over here and then again when they're literally about to arrive or parking. I feel safe and comfortable with them in my house. I can't recommend them enough. I have a lot of chronic conditions and it's often hard to find people who are able to understand my needs and work around me. They're always courteous and respectful and very kind."

"Simon and Eddie did excellent job on resurfacing our basement floor with concrete. I can’t wait for it to dry so we can finish the space and use it more. They are professional, kind, respectful and hard-working. We will be hiring them again and future projects. Price was fair as well. Thank you!"

Playground Equipment questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.

Material markup costs and labor expenses are the additional primary costs of hiring a playground installer over building your own set. Labor costs are typically less costly than some more specialized home improvement projects. DIY swing set construction is less expensive than professional installation but will take considerably more time and effort to perform.

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.

The average cost to install a playground is around $500, with most homeowners spending between $150 and $1,200 on installation labor. The total project cost can range from $500 to $2,500. These prices typically do not include the playground equipment itself, which can cost an additional $100 to $1,500.

Several factors influence the final installation cost:

  • Playset Details: The type, size, material, design complexity, and number of accessories.

  • Site Preparation: Costs may increase if the land needs to be leveled.

  • Yard Accessibility: Difficult access for installers can raise labor costs.

  • Customization: Custom-built playgrounds are more expensive to install than premade kits.

  • Permits: Local permitting fees may apply.

Additionally, remember to budget for playground surfacing, which can cost $15 to $160 per cubic yard, or up to $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.

For artificial turf that’s the most durable, look for heat-resistant products with thicker blades. Keep in mind that there’s a difference between artificial grass versus artificial turf, with turf consisting of a shorter look while artificial grass is longer and more closely resembles real grass.
