"After months of hemming and hawing and getting quotes, I finally went with Hollywood Junk to haul away my old washer and dryer. I m so glad I did! They gave me the best price and could do it the next day. Then when the weather started looking bad, they contacted me and came to get them early - the same day I called. I was able to get my car in the garage before the snow came. Steve was super nice and professional. I would use this company again in a heartbeat."

"I reached out to Family First in regards to my parents yard that needed a little TLC. Richard, the owner contacted me shortly after I reached out to him. He was able to accommodate our schedule in setting up an appointment for an estimate in what exactly the job entailed. Richard stayed in constant contact with me, going back and forth in figuring out what day was best to come by and see the yard. My father was very impressed with Richard's demeanor and professionalism in understanding what the task ahead was. My father felt the estimate was fair for the amount of work that needed to be done. Richard and his crew came within a matter of days of the initial estimate and got the job done in less than 2 days. My father was quite pleased with the final results and told me that it was a pleasure working with Richard. We would definitely hire Family First again without any hesitation. Thank you again Richard"

Hauling questions, answered by experts

While it's not expected, tipping junk haulers is a kind gesture when the team goes above and beyond for piano disposal. Lugging and breaking down a piano requires specialized equipment, maneuvering, and a lot of strength. When your junk haulers take particularly good care of your home during the process, consider tipping between 10% and 20% of the total bill to split among the team or $10 to $20 per hauler.

Yes, concrete is recyclable, but you can’t just drop it off at a traditional recycling center. Most major cities have specific concrete recycling centers that will accept your concrete disposal and break it down using industrial equipment. Recycled concrete can be used to create environmentally sustainable items like gabion walls to protect shorelines.

At the low end, a simple consumer treadmill may weigh around 200 pounds. At the high end, large treadmills made for gym use with lots of bells and whistles can weigh up to 500 pounds. Research your treadmill’s make and model to determine its exact weight before attempting to move it.

Parts of a mattress that can be recycled include the metal springs, wood frame, foam, and some fibers like cotton or wool that may be found in the fabric. Not all recycling centers accept mattresses, so call ahead. Alternatively, some mattress manufacturers take used mattresses for recycling.

If waste is not collected, you must first determine the reason why. Once you know your area's trash pickup rules and restrictions, you can contact a waste removal service, rent a dumpster, or take your trash to the appropriate disposal facility.
