"I called Horizon after moving into a new home in Medway and having no idea what condition the chimney was in. They sent a team out the same day! The guys were great - very friendly and professional. They looked everything over, informed us that one chimney needed to be cleaned but the other did not, and some of the brick work was loose on the fireplace floor. I also requested a chimney cap and they suggested strengthening part of the chimney before installing. They provided an estimate within 24 hours and came out about a week later to do the work. Again, they were completely professional, pleasant and somehow despite cleaning the chimney and doing masonry work, did not create any dust or mess in the house. I was so pleased that I asked them to put us on a yearly schedule for routine cleaning. I highly recommend!"

They quickly determined the flashing of my chimney was probably the reason for the leak, so they gave me a quote to rebuild the chimney flashing for $1300. They were able to do the work that same day, which I thought was great. However, the leak continued, so I moved on to roofers to help figure out the problem. I had 5 different roofing and repair companies come out, and each one said that the flashing on the chimney was terribly done, using a sealant instead of metal step flashing as is standard. I called back Chimney and Duct Experts and spoke with a supervisor. He agreed to come and redo the flashing, but insisted that fully rebuilding the flashing is only done when you get a new roof. Ended up being incorrectly done again, and I'll have to pay someone now to fix it correctly."
