"Rico and his crew are hardworking, professional and polite. He came quickly to give an estimate and was able to get the job done in a short time frame. We wouldnâ t have be able to complete this task without JM Landscaping. Thank you Rico!"

"We were overwhelmed with downed trees during the July 2019 tornados. Neighbors had Marcos and his crew cleaning up their yard so we inquired about his service. Marcos gave us a decent and honest price-no gouging! His crew was non-stop-we had to keep asking them to take a break in the heat. Amazing! Then we had to have Marcos come back a month later for some "leaning" trees that need to come down. Again-great pricing-immediate service. Now, we wouldn't consider anyone else but Majick Landscaping!"

"The crew actually did much more than I had contracted for. They worked fast, cleaned up everything, and in one day had the place looking great. They had to remove a lot of debris from the yard and take it to the dump. They also took down two overgrown trees that were overpowering the house. I will use them as my landscapers all summer.

"I tried Sod for my yard twice but my German Shepard killed it. I figured I give this a try and it has been two weeks so far and I feel it is one of the best things I have done. Yard looks great and the crew that put it in did an awesome job. They did a lot of work to level out the yard and to secure the turf down. Anyone is welcome to come and check this out in Lowell Ma. "3 Brothers Landscape were amazing! Jose called me right away and scheduled a same day appointment to come by to check out the job. After meeting and checking out the job, Jose gave me a quote which I accepted. He scheduled the service for the next day! I was ecstatic for I was having trouble all summer to find someone to clear a brush pile and a mulch pile out of my yard to no avail. Three Brothers were on time, polite, abs extremely efficient. They even took some air conditioners out if my windows and stored then in my basement for me which was a God sent. Jose has a customer for life! I highly recommend Tgree Brothers Landscape!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Yes, you can landscape in the rain, but you should take some precautions to keep yourself and your tools safe. Avoid using electric landscaping tools during rainfall, and don’t mow, thatch, aerate, or rake in the rain, as your tools can more easily tear out roots in the loose soil. Be careful when working on wet grass, and take your time to avoid slipping. Avoid putting in new plants before a particularly bad storm, as heavy rain and strong winds can damage or uproot plants that aren’t yet established.

Most bamboo can send roots down two to three feet into the ground. However, when stopping bamboo from spreading, the focus is on the runner roots or rhizomes. These roots are much shallower, staying 12 inches or less from the surface, so they’re easier to find and remove. But if you want to remove the bamboo entirely, you’ll have to dig out the full root system.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

The soil around your foundation should slope down and away from your home, not toward it. If the grading drops the farther you are from your home, you can enhance the slope by removing more soil. Mark off a few feet from your house and dig up some of this soil. Regrading around your fountain should encourage water to flow away from your home and not collect or “pond.”
