"MAB Woodworking responded to our online request for kitchen cabinet remodeling to accommodate a new current model refrigerator. Our 45 year old Amana refrigerator died suddenly & no modern refrigerator could fit into the existing built-in space. Ugh! Michael Butler, MAB founder, visited our home first to scope out a vision for moving the cabinets to allow room for a new KitcenAid 36” counter depth refrigerator. Michael sensed our urgency, immediately scheduled the repair, giving us a firm date for refrigerator install & appeared two days later completing the work on time & on budget. Customers say: Quick response

"We had a great experience with Beautiful Finish and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a kitchen cabinet facelift. Rory was extremely communicative and helpful when it came to making cabinet-related decisions. Rory and the rest of the crew started the job ahead of the originally scheduled start date, arrived on time every day, and were meticulous in their work. We're so happy with the finished product! (On a side note, after they left, we discovered that one of our oven knobs was preventing a drawer from opening completely. Rory came out right away to figure out a solution and correct it)."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

The standard kitchen soffit begins at least 7 feet and 1 inch above the floor. In kitchens with very high ceilings, the soffit height may be taller. Consult your kitchen remodeling contractor about the best soffit dimensions for your kitchen to ensure high-quality and visually appealing results.

Options include stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets, each offering varying levels of personalization and cost.

Solid wood is the most common material for cabinet bases. It’s a popular choice because it’s durable and will hold up over time. Oak, maple, cherry, hickory, and pine are all types of solid wood that can be used to build cabinet bases. Other options include plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of manufactured lumber, but they need to be sealed properly to avoid swelling, separating, and delamination from moisture.

No. Drywall anchors aren’t a good choice for hanging a cabinet because the opening and closing of the cabinet door can cause things to shift, the weight of a mirror is more than most drywall anchors can accommodate, and adding the weight of items stored in the cabinet will make this an even more precarious option. Using the correct mounting bracket for the cabinet you choose is the best way to hang a medicine cabinet.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.
