The people were super nice, on time, in and out quickly, did a fantastic job for a reasonable price and made some suggestions when issues arose. It was a wonderful experience, would definitely use them again and very highly recommend them.

Beautiful Finish was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Rory is super helpful and meticulous about details and the results show it. We can’t believe the transformation of our kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity from 1990’s boring to stunning! We feel good about refacing vs buying new cabinets because we minimized sending material to the landfill. Much less expensive for us, too. Highly recommend!

We installed new, solid maple doors with soft close hinges, a waste pull out unit, and dovetailed maple drawer boxes with full extension, soft close undermount slides. After receiving quotes from three cabinet contractors, we hired Eduardo, Rory, and their crew to refresh our kitchen. Our boxes were in great shape but the doors and hardware had seen better days. We have 9 drawers and 29 cabinet doors - the project also included building a new cabinet, converting a former wine rack to a functional cabinet with doors, and replacement of several drawer boxes for conversion to soft-close. The team came in and had everything sprayed and replaced in a week - they worked quickly and professionally. Along with new countertops installed alongside the cabinet work, our kitchen looks brand new. I wouldn't hesitate to hire the Beautiful Finish team again!

Beautiful Finish did a fabulous job refinishing my Sie Matic Kitchen Cabinets and Island. The finished product exceeded my expectations. They were punctual, extremely neat and respectful of our home. The refinishing in home took place the first day that construction projects were allowed during Covid 19 restrictions. They filed a Covid 19 Safety Plan and took incredible precautions from a safety point of view to protect us and our home. They were easy to communicate with and efficient. Thanks to Rory, Eduardo and Jacob for giving us exactly what we wanted and delivering a "new" kitchen.

This was mainly a custom hood project. The Beautiful Finish team was amazing in going outside of their usual finishing work. The results are just what we wanted. The carpentry cost was a little higher than the initial estimate because it was an hourly rate (as we agreed). Just a few hours longer than the estimate. Still less than other estimates and even off the rack options. Carpentry work was careful and precise. It also included levelling for new quartz countertops and a very heavy sink. Finishing was more standardized and at the expected cost, done quickly and well. Overall we are very pleased with the results.

Beautiful finish did a great job. The desk looks brand new. The finish is a dark mahogany color, with no more flaws or damage. They put all new brass hardware on the drawers, too, so the total effect is beautiful. It looks like a fabulous antique. The hope chest is a standing chest, on 4 claw feet. The whole thing looked great when I got it back, and since 2 of the feet were damaged, they trimmed them and put the good feet facing the front. It looks as though they were meant to be that way. There's new brass hardware on the chest, too, so now both pieces match and look great. The only drawback I noticed is that the top of the chest has developed big bubbles in a couple of places. I haven't had a chance to contact Beautiful Finish to have them look at it and let me know what needs to be done to fix it or get rid of the bubbles.

Beautiful Finish is somewhat informally run - more like a hobby than a
committed business, at least as far as hours go. Owner is courteous and
communicates reasonably well, once you get in contact with him. Can be reluctant to commit, but once he
does, honors the commitment. On the expensive side, but my guess is
that I'd feel that way about everybody in the business.

Our 8 dinning room chairs had reached the point of literally coming apart at the joints after 30 years of seating our ever growing family, first of children and now of grandchildren. Based on Angie's List reviews, I took 1 chair to Bright Finish for evaluation. Gene advised me that it had had lose upper and lower corners plus loose uprights, typical of wooden chairs that have had hard use. He quoted a price and a 1 week delivery for all 8 to be taken apart and re-glued with industrial epoxy. The price and time frame were reasonable, so I brought in the remaining chairs which were fixed rock solid on time and as quoted. While in the shop, I saw examples of dressers and tables brought back to show room finish. I was so impressed that I talked with Gene, who is a very knowledgeable refinisher with many years in the business, about some options for other of my pieces that need repair. I plan to use his service again. In my opinion, this is the place to go for wood furniture problems.

It went badly. I took the door to the shop on 1/9/08. The apprentice gave me a service agreement that was not yet filled out and said he would call me with options. He said he would refinish the door using one method, but the owner wanted to do it using another method. 2 weeks later I called to see what they had decided, and the apprentice said that they had not yet done anything. The following week, the owner called and told me it would cost $85 to refinish the door, and he told me that it would be done using the apprentice's idea because his way was easier than the owner's way. The apprentice also told me they were very busy at that time. Weeks later I had not heard from the shop. I called and they had not gotten to the job. I wanted to pick up the door and bring it somewhere else, but a couple of days later they called and said the door had been refinished. At that time the owner quoted a price of $125. My husband argued with the owner, saying that he had given us a firm price of $85. The owner said he had never quoted that price. In the interest of getting back our door, we agreed to split the difference and pay the owner $100. When we picked up the door, we noticed that the finish was darker than the rest of the armoire, and so the problem we wanted solved had gotten worse. Also, the panel had some detail around its edges. They had originally been sanded to soften all the edges, and now the panel's edges were very sharp, so the shop had done a sloppy job of restoring the door to its original style. We also noticed that the doorknob was no longer there. We called the owner and told him about the mismatched color and the sharp edges. The owner was very surly and denied there was any problem. We insisted but he would not do anything to rectify the situation. We called again about the missing knob, and the owner blamed us for losing the knob. We called again and asked the owner to look for the knob. A few days later we called back and the owner had found the knob. We picked up the knob at the shop a few days later. Every step with this place was a fight, and they did bad quality work. We initially took our door to this shop because they had a reputation for restoring fine wood furniture and antiques, and our maple armoire was worth over $2000. We are still dissatisfied with their work and the bad treatment and communication we received from this company. We will never go back there, and we are afraid that if we take the door back for further repair, the owner and apprentice will make it even worse than they did the first time. We waited months for our repair to be done and had to chase them down many times for any information, as they did not call to update us.

"Please note that this was for one door. We have refinished and painted literally thousands of pieces of furniture as well as hundreds of entire kitchen cabinets. We have a long list of satisfied customer references. This door was heavily damaged, far more than the customer described on the phone, thus the increased price. We also told the customer that, due to the heavy damage to the door, we wouldn't be able to restore it 100%. We suggested replacing the door, which we could have done for them. It would have cost more of course but would have saved the armoire. The customer did not want to pay for a new door (about $350) so we did our best to restore the one they had. It took far more shop time than the $100 we charged for it. It took longer because we had a number of large jobs in at the time--and the customer told us there was 'no hurry.' Nevertheless in general, I think we have to take responsibility for this problem. It's too bad; we would like our Angie's List profile to reflect the true nature of our business. We're very responsive to customer complaints and have a policy of not leaving any customer unhappy. (I didn't know this one was unhappy or I would have resolved it before now.) We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and many many customer references we can pass along to any I have contacted this customer and refunded their money.
