"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. "Pacific Stone and Tiles came to measure and showed about 6 choices for granite selection for the offer price. We were working with our own interior designer and we were on FaceTime with her. She nixed the 6 choices so Pacific Stone showed us another granite which was from India and was mostly white with few markings and some reddish-brownish highlights. The effect of this Indian granite was white and it coordinated nicely with our maple cabinets. Our interior designer told us to choose that and we agreed to pay Pacific Stone $1000. more for this granite from India. No name was given for this new granite in writing. When the day of installation came, the old countertop was removed. I did not think to go out and look at the granite in the truck before installation. The installation was done very efficiently and very nicely. However, the countertop did not look like what we were expecting. The color effect was gray with many markings. We were expecting a whitish granite and got gray. I asked to see the original sample that we had been shown when we selected the white granite but they did not have it on the truck. I contacted Pacific Stone and they emailed me a photo of what they said was the granite sample they showed me, but it did not look what they showed me. The granite we got was called moon white on the final bill but it had no name on the original invoice we signed. I made a number of inquiries about the discrepancy between the granite color we expected and what we received. Pacific Stone said there are natural variations in the appearance of each granite variety. However, we paid $1000 more because we thought we were getting the granite color we and our interior designer viewed and chose. I don't think I got the granite we selected and feel I paid $1000 too much. I now have to figure out how to get the granite to coordinate with the maple cabinets as well as regretting that I paid $1000 more than I should have."
