"Armando and his crew did a great job of transforming an ugly front yard space into something of envy?. They tore up old bushes entangled with weeds and removed a huge stump from a previous cut down tree and years and years of mulch and replaced with beautiful sod as well as edging with cobblestone and mulching an area where they transplanted my hydrangeas. They also tore up my backyard added loam and seeded which I?m looking forward to enjoying in the next few weeks! Oh and all in one day!! While it's a good idea to water your grass during a drought or when temperatures are high, you should not water your lawn every day. For most lawns, watering one to three times per week is sufficient. Avoid watering in the middle of the day or when the temperature is above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, as the extreme heat will cause the water to evaporate before the soil can fully absorb it. The best time to water your lawn in the summer is in the early morning at dawn or in the early evening, such as between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., when it's cooler.

Many experts say anytime before 10 a.m. is a good time to water grass, but this does depend a bit on the climate conditions where you live. For example, if you live in South Florida and it’s already 95 degrees by 7:30 a.m., it may simply be too hot to effectively water your lawn, regardless of what the time is.

It’s possible to over-mulch leaves. If the leaf mulch is thick enough that it’s blocking and smothering the grass, that’s a problem. Ideally, you should still be able to see the grass when you’re done mulching to ensure its ability to continue growing. The solution is to make another pass at the top layer of leaf mulch to collect some of the top layer.

Depending on the local climate and time of year, you only need to water your lawn by hand once or twice a week. It takes about 25 to 30 minutes with a hose and/or watering can. It doesn't require any electricity or complex irrigation systems and provides some exercise and time outdoors for free. You can also go for longer between waterings during rainy times.

The first step is killing any current nutgrass plants, either through application of herbicides or sugar, by digging up the plants and rhizomes, or by using soil solarization. To discourage new nutgrass plants from forming, ensure proper landscape drainage and bring shade into areas of the lawn that are consistently damp.
