"We hired Bertie Walsh to re-do our garage ceiling which had been incorrectly repaired by a different contractor (not a contractor found on Angie's List).  Bertie was a godsend because after he removed the ceiling he pointed out to us that the previous contractor had failed to connect the blue board to the joist (not sure if that's the right word) and there also wasn't any strapping holding it to the subsurface, which would have caused it to eventually bow out.  Bertie put a new section of ceiling up and finished it with plaster and did a remarkable job matching the existing ceiling.

Bertie is quiet and hard working.  No fluff with this guy.  He's an honest, no-nonsense guy who will give you a very reasonable quote, will show up when he says he will, and then quietly and diligently do the work.  He cleaned up well after the work was completed.  I found myself looking for other things that needed plastering or handiwork around the house just so we could hire him again.  Yep, he is that good!

They had to remove damaged ceiling that was caused by water/sewerage leak. Then they had to install a large piece of drywall and plaster over it. Nelson and his partner did an awesome job feathering the plaster to make the drywall fit in seamlessly. Another great thing they did was to block off the area (with drop cloths and plastic) they were working in. This kept the work and debris area contained. As a result, no debris and dust went elsewhere. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the work performed by New England Plastering and Painting.
