"I called in requested a recaulk on my shower they installed back in 2016. Office was very friendly and quick to get me a service ticket out to the repair man! They had him out two days later!! He did a great job and was very friendly! I’ve had no issues with my shower and i love it! And incredibly Thankyou they offer upkeep service like the recaulking to keep it looking beautiful!!!"

"The tub is wonderful! Installation of the tub was ok except for the widening of the bathroom door. The door trim was wrong and the door itself was not straight. The threshold was not installed at all. Paid an additional $700 to get the door rehung."

"After searching Angie's List for someone to remove cracked wood and replace it, I was very well pleased with Patch of Heaven Lawn and Home Care, LLC. The owner immediately contacted me to come out to review the area for repair. I received a reasonable quote and accepted it. The workers were here a few days later and completed the job with excellency. I am well pleased and will be contacting Patch of Heaven again for more work. This company is quick, reasonable and does great work. Highly recommended!!!"

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

However, acrylic and fiberglass bathtubs have a shorter lifespan (about 10 to 15 years). Alcove tubs come in fiberglass, acrylic, or enameled steel. Fiberglass is the most affordable but least durable, while acrylic is the highest-end and most durable (as long as you don’t go with a poor grade of acrylic, which will be prone to scratches). Enameled steel, where a steel tub is coated in a layer of porcelain, is a wallet-friendly middle ground. This material is highly durable but prone to chips.

If you have an alcove in your bathroom, you don’t necessarily need to install an alcove tub. You can choose a drop-in tub and fit the frame to the alcove. This allows you to get a more custom or spa-like look. Think cultured marble or tiling for the frame versus the simpler look of acrylic or fiberglass with an alcove tub.

If you don’t caulk your bathtub, then there won’t be a watertight seal between your bathtub and the wall tile surrounding it. As a result, water can seep into the wall and the floor and cause the perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew. Not only does this require costly repairs, but mold can be harmful to those breathing it. 

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.
