"Ed Chachere is a local builder. There are a handful of people that work for him. They are very desired around town and are very sought after for very high end buildings by upmarket people. A lot of architects in town use Ed Chachere Construction. His work is very precise and he is being very careful with our 60-year-old house. They are using screws instead of nails for the work. Everything is very, very sharp in the cuts and very clean. I like his precision and the fact that the work is strong. He handpicks the lumber and is very careful to put the right side out. As a carpenter myself I look for those kinds of things. He has been very considerate. There were a couple of deck boards that shouldn’t have been side by side, but they got it right by tearing them up and remixing it. That was an example of how they were very willing to do what we wanted them to do. He has involved me throughout the process. The other day he fell off my roof and had to be taken to the emergency room. He was back on the job the next day, but we just made him sit all day and give directions from the chair. He has been here everyday since. I think he is great. He worked from the crack of morning until almost the last bit of daylight in the evening. He put in long, long days and I like that about him.
