In both years, the company promised to begin work in a certain month but in actuality the start of work was at least two months behind.
The sole purpose for the pond was that Mark recommended this as a noise distraction and visual enhancer. My wife wanted a noise distraction. Mark suggested a cascading noisy pond with fountains, What the pond ultimate appeared to be were bamboo sticks fountain with absolutely no noise reduction. The whole purpose of the pond was to use the cascading water as noise detractors, this pond effort was a total failure.
As part of a Japanese design Mark recommended slates with stationary river rock. This is an absolute mess, the rocks we understood would be cemented in place while in reality they are loose. This creases a constant mess to the yard
This was a $20,000 project, the plants that were flowering were a disaster. Louisiana irises have not bloomed to this date,
The gardenias planted have either died or on the verge of dying, no flower production.
In 2014, once the crew came, they came with abut 15 plants short of one variety. The landscaper said one of the other workers from another crew had taken our plants. he recommend that we should plant one half of the yard with the larger plants and one half of the yard with smaller plants. he indicated that the smaller plants would quickly catch up in size with the larger plant. This has not been that case and we are quite unhappy. Knockout roses were also planted and fertilized. They were pretty much dead by the end of the summer, Hydrangeas, that were planted in the front have not bloomed at
all. The mondo grass planted along the walkway was dead by fall
We are most dissatisfied with the follow up, the quality of the plants, and the design and installation of the pond/slate installation
To say the least we are quite disappointed with the service and services of Mullins!
They have not responded to our complaints!

I took a shower and the shower didn''t drain. Checked another bathroom and that toilet would not drain. I looked on Angie's List and found this company. I called and I was told that someone would be out within 2 hours. As it turned out, the technician came in about an hour. He was very professional and courteous. I showed him the drain clean out and he went right to work. In less than 30 minutes the job was finished and everything was draining just fine. He had to move some patio furniture and plants to get to the clean out and when he was done he made sure to replace everything just as it was before. This service call was not all that complicated, but I was impressed with the prompt response by the company, the friendly and courteous person who answered the call and the professionalism of the serviceman. I would definitely use this company again. Most of the people there are helpful. I installed a garden in front of my house as well as lots of gardens in my back yard. I got all the dirt, topsoil and plants - tomatoes, blueberries, several types of herbs, strawberries, eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, etc, etc, etc from them. Scott at Charvet's gives good advice. I have also purchased lots of organic gardening supplies and supplements and then lots of chemical and soil supplements when the organic stuff would not get rid of the bugs or address the problems. Every time we went back to visit, we left with more supplements and chemicals to address whatever was going on. Somewhat frustrating, but last year, we had a decent crop for a first go-round.
This year I planned to do more gardening and also plant trees. I went back to Charvet's. I told Michelle that I wanted a satsuma tree and an avocado tree, she dicussed this with me and a week later my husband and I came back to buy all the plants for the garden as well as the trees. The avocado tree was $69.00! We bought it and planted it as instructed and gave it the "Pecan and Citrus Tree Food" we purchased, which Michelle said would be good for both trees. Within two weeks, the tree wasn't looking good. I took pictures and went back to Charvet's. I showed Scott the pictures and he confirmed we had planted it correctly, it was draining, the root bulb wasn't buried, etc. However, he said no way should we have been told to give it Pecan and Citrus Tree Food as that was "way too much nitrogen" for the avocado. Another 50.00 worth of supplements and instructions to try to save the tree and I was off again. The tree now looks completely dead. I called Charvet's on 4/5 and spoke with someone who said there is nothing that they can do. I asked if they would replace the tree like some of the other stores in the area and she said no, they weren't a big box store like Home Depot. I told her Perrino's (not a big box store) has a year long guarantee and this has been a month. All I have done is purchase plants and enough chemicals and supplements to go into the garden supply business and I would expect them to do something to correct the situation, especially when apparently I had been given incorrect advice on how to care for the avodcado tree. She said she really didn't see what they could do, that there are too many other variables coming into play as to whether a tree would make it.
In short, if you can afford to throw lots of money into supplements and chemicals and don't care if things work or don't, you can head to Charvet's. Everytime you visit and bring up a problem, they will sell you something to address it. However, if you are looking for customer service, a professional attitude, or for someone to stand by the advice they give or their $69.00 trees, you might want to go elsewhere. I've spent a ton of money there and I guess I will have to find another place for my gardening supplies and plants."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/la/metairie/charvet%27s-garden-ctr-inc-reviews-4183679.htm"},"position":10}]}

"Aleck and his workers just completed a job that involved repairs, woodwork, staining, installing ceiling fans, painting, and more. They even helped me hang playset equipment! I can't say enough good things about their work and their work ethic. They went over and above on each item they tackled, troubleshooting until they had it just right. They arrived every day on time, were very nice, and did excellent work. Highly recommend!!"

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
