Aleck and his workers just completed a job that involved repairs, woodwork, staining, installing ceiling fans, painting, and more. They even helped me hang playset equipment! I can't say enough good things about their work and their work ethic. They went over and above on each item they tackled, troubleshooting until they had it just right. They arrived every day on time, were very nice, and did excellent work. Highly recommend!!

Initially I called Aleck for grass cutting at my vacant rental. Following the hurricane I had a tree partially come down in the back yard that was too much of a nuisance for other folks I called. I had called around to get quotes and timlines to have a tree company do some work. The fastest anyone could do it was 3+weeks. Aleck cut my grass, and cleaned up the fallen branches and then was able to coordinate the removal of a big tree and trimming of a second in less than 4 days! His price quotes (grass cutting and tree removal) were cheaper than anyone else I talked to, and he got it done FAST! The interaction I had with him is what I believe Angies list is all about. Aside from the work he has done, i have a new reliable handyman which is invaluable when you have a rental property and live out of state.

Aleck is extremely professional and works hard to get the most out of a budget. He cleans up every day even if a job goes over a few days. It’s a pleasure to work with someone you can rely on.

You set a time and he is there when expected. Easy to give instructions on what I want done and does a great job. He is a type of person who is a "Jack of all Trades". He can handle jobs outside and inside your home. His price is reasonable and I highly recommend him.

When Mr. Scallon came to give us a price, we asked that he include some type of drainage, tree trim, and tree transplant. After we discussed it, we decided to just have the drainage done at this time. One of the factors in this decision was Mr. Scallon's lack of insurance that would cover such a dangerous tree trimming job. 
The drainage work was done when Mr. Scallon said it would be done. It was done efficiently by Mr. Scallon and his workers. We were glad that it rained heavily that weekend so we could "test it out." For the first time, we didn't have a small lake appear in our backyard. The installation seemed to work We appreciate Mr. Scallon's work so much that we asked for a price on painting our porch, ramp and deck. He and his workers are here today cleaning and preparing the area for painting later in the week. I would definitely recommend his work to anyone.

 Mr. Scallan of Home Improvements came to my house on Wednesday to check out what I wanted done and give me a price for the work.   We agreed he would come the next day for 9:00 am to do the job.  He was here for 9:00 am as planned.  I had all kinds of trees to be trimmed, shaped and cut.  Also, had gutters to be cleaned and metal pipes to be cut and removed from my yard and weeds to be sprayed.   He bagged all he had cut and took the pipes with him to dispose of,  which I really appreciated.  He did a very neat job.  He did everything I asked him to do and even fixed my page fence which wasn't even on my list.   In his listing on Angie's list, he also does other maintenance jobs.   I was completely satisfied with his work and will not hesitate to call him in the future for other jobs besides yard work.

He always does a great job. Very reliable, which I appreciate when I can't be at the property to remind/oversee/etc. He's easy to communicate with and work with. I've thrown a number of different projects each way, and he does them well. Jack of trades.

His name is Alec Scallan. He is a little handyman; I can get him in to do small jobs. He is very, very good and very dependable.
