"I called two different companies to come out and look at my problem at first. The first company never showed up in the second company didn't really seem to know how to resolve my problem and seemed unprofessional. I called Able Plumbing and drains and spoke with Douglas and he scheduled my free estimate. The plumber came to my home and found that the rust coming from my faucets is due to old metal water lines and needed to be replaced. The drain problems I was having where because of the trees in my front yard that had lifted my sewer line so it was not able to drain properly. They gave me a quote of $12,678.46 to remove and replace my water lines with flexible lines and reroute my main sewer line so the trees could no longer effect the draining. I agreed to the price signed the ticket and paid my deposit. The next day the plumber brought a helper to start digging my sewer line while he ran in Grabbed materials. He showed back up about an hour later with all the materials needed for my job and they continue to work for the rest of the day. The whole job took about 4 days and I was very impressed with their professionalism and all-around workmanship on my project. I would recommend Able Plumbing and drains to family and friends as well as hire them again myself. They made it very easy from the first phone call to the completion of my project..."

"I woke up Monday morning to the familiar sound of water moving through the pipes somewhere in my house. The only problem was that everyone else was still asleep and there were no faucets or toilets running inside the house. Outside, I found that water was flowing big time from the area where the main water supply line enters the house. I shut off the water at the meter and jumped on Angie's List to find a reputable plumber in the area. Jim's Service was very well regarded by others here, so I gave Jim a call. It was still pretty early, but Jim answered right away. I told him about my situation and he said that he'd be glad to help me out. He said that he had one job ahead of me, but that he should be done with that one by late morning. He said that he'd give me a call when he was on his way. At about 11:00, Jim called as promised to say that he was done with the first job and was on his way. Ten minutes later he was here with his son to assist. They dug about three feet down to find that a tree root had broken the PVC elbow joint where the line turned upward to the cutoff valve outside my house. Jim cut away the broken joint, extended the line as needed to replace the removed section, and glued in a new elbow, taking care to not get dirt in the line. Because the joint was difficult to reach and work comfortably, the first try did not seat well and needed to be redone. Jim was patient and spent the extra time needed to make sure it was done right. After verifying the fix, they took the time to replace the weed barrier and mulch moved to dig the hole, leaving it in good shape. Many people I've encountered in the service business would prefer to avoid contact with you until they hand you a bill. Not so with these guys. From start to finish, Jim and his son were pleasant and communicated well what they found and what needed to be done. While he spent about three hours on site, including time to let the glue properly set after each repair, Jim charged me only for the time it would have taken had the first try been successful. Kudos to Jim and son for being prompt, getting the job done right, billing hours fairly, and being pleasant and professional in the process. That's not so common these days. They're just good people.

"We were looking for someone to put in a paver patio and pergola in our backyard at our new home. We met with many landscapers, but Eric and Cornerstone were the only ones to make us feel like they wanted our business and we were their only client. From design to completion, Eric and his team were friendly, helpful, professional, and gave us exactly what we wanted. Their work is high quality and their prices were competitive and fair. Even after the projects completion, Eric and his team came back to button up a few things after a bad storm to ensure that we were happy. If you're looking for a landscaper to treat your home as their own, hire Cornerstone."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

Chemical drain cleaners can work to clear clogs in pipes, but their use should be approached with caution. These harsh chemicals can damage pipes over time, and they can also harm the environment. Use them sparingly and consider alternative methods such as using a plunger or a drain snake. If you have concerns about a persistent clog, it's best to consult a professional who can safely and effectively address the issue without causing further damage to your plumbing system.

Common drain issues include slow-running drains, whether in a sink or shower, clogged drains, a bad smell, and water backing up into a sink, shower, or bathtub. Causes range from hair, grease, roots, or toilet paper clogging the drainpipes to flooding outside the home, which prevents sewer lines from draining properly.

To keep window wells from filling up with water, you need to stay on top of maintenance. Remove debris as it fills up, and regularly loosen the gravel at the base if it’s become compacted. You can also reslope your yard to make sure water flows away from the window well (and your home’s foundation), and you can even install a window well cover to prevent debris from building up. Installing an actual drainpipe at the base of the well can also prevent window well drainage problems.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.
