"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"I had a quote to re-roof my house, shingles on the main house and a flat asphalt rolled on the addition, from the company that did the roof inspection (Specialty). They did not bid the rolled portion and it took me two days to learn they do not do rolled. Because my house was in Midland, time was of the essence. Chris gave me a bid within a day and two days later they replaced both roofs plus repaired termite damage around the roof areas. Great job. Cleaned up and came back to replace the screens I had on the gutter. Would use them again in a flash if I were staying in the area."

"Marc Jones did the initial interview and explained the concepts, offered alternative and slightly less expensive inverter (serial inverter vs multiple microinverters) and he and his crew did the work. They worked safely and were in harnesses whenever they were on my metal roof. They braced the roof from the inside to bear the weight of the panels, and they cleaned up each evening.
Mr Jones provided all the supporting documentation to apply for tax credits for the systems, and there were no surprises or hidden charges. His charges are competitive with other bidders, and he runs a quality business.

"We hired reliable roofing to replace the underlayment and damaged plywood on our tile roof. Below are the pros and cons of our experience. Pros The roofers did a good job replacing the underpayment and retiling the entire roof Cons Customer service was not good with communication and informing us of status on the job and what days the workers were coming out. We would wake up at 8am to banging on the roof that is how we found out when the workers were coming. Roofers did not clean up well. We had to clean up food, water bottles, nails and debris every-time they finish work on the roof for the day Roofers in nailing in roof created holes in the interior walls of the home and chipped wall around our skylight in our roof, however they did plaster the chips and holes, but we will have to paint it ourselves. They did not find the exact color matching tile so my roof is now two different colors Management will gouge pricing then renegotiate lower pricing and will state if you are a return customer you will get a discount however when trying to use them again to be honored that return customer discount, they priced me well over competitors for the same work, so no discount was provided. I would give them a C for lack of customer service and pricing, however the roof work outside of the tiles not matching was good."

For homeowners who plan to stay in their homes for a long time or never want to have to deal with replacing a roof again, rubber roof shingles are likely worth the added investment amount over asphalt shingle varieties. While the initial cost of installing a rubber shingle roof will be significantly higher, their long life spans can be worth it in the long term. Consider the curb appeal of a rubber roof, though, as other roofing materials, like metal, can look better and offer even greater value.

You can secure roof decorations like inflatables and other Christmas decor by tying a rope or attacking bungee cords to your roof clips. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you can use sandbags for extra support. Like with Christmas lights, avoid using staples or duct tape.

You can technically install a metal roof over asphalt shingles, but it isn’t a good idea. This is because you’re essentially creating a moisture barrier under the metal, which can easily—and often does—lead to significant mold damage. Removing an asphalt roof isn’t terribly expensive, and some roofing companies might cut you a serious labor and disposal discount if you add it to a new install.

Generally, the term “rolled roofing” refers to MSR (mineral surface roll) roofing. This type of roofing is similar to asphalt shingles but comes in a roll that’s unraveled and installed over your roof deck. There are many types of rolled roofing, including TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen roofing (aka torch down roofing).

It’s possible for a roofing estimate to change after the initial assessment, but in most cases, it shouldn’t. There’s always the risk that something unexpected will happen that causes prices to go up, like discontinued materials or your roofer discovering previously hidden damage to your decking when ripping off the old roof. However, experienced roofers should account for these circumstances in their initial estimates. Roofing contracts are binding, so always check your contract for language about how and why your numbers could change.
