Customers say: Super punctual

"I highly recommend this company! They came when scheduled, did the work, showed me what was going on up there and were very friendly and professional throughout. They replaced 7 bricks, water proofed the whole thing and installed a new chimney cap. I will say this was different than another masonry company which strongly suggested I needed to replace my entire chimney. I very much appreciated working with them!"

"The flue going from our water heater needed cleaned and they first advised me they were booked out for weeks. After talking with the office the got me an appointment the next day. They came out and cleaned the flue and advised me of issues with our set up and gave an estimate for a chimney cap. Everything was done professionally and explained. I highly recommend."

"Tommy and his team did a great job on our chimney! Once it finally stopped raining Tommy and his crew got to work and finished in a reasonable amount of time. Anytime I texted Tommy he would respond answering any questions I had. His work was top notch, rebuilt the crown (which looks bomb proof) and cut out the brick mortar out down to the roof line. Tuck pointed and painted my chimney. Not single drop of water has come in since he finished his work. They cleaned up all materials afterwards too! Really pleased that we hired Tommy Mattingly Masonry, I will be using him again in the future for any of my masonry needs."

"
During my home inspection, the inspector suggested I have a qualified roofer perform a closer examination of the roof.  Bill Thompson had replaced the roof on my brother and sister's homes, therefore I called Mr. Thompson to see if he could meet me at the home I was wanting to buy.  I needed to respond to the Sellers that day with all items that needed repaired so I was very glad he could meet me at the house that afternoon.  Based on his inspection, I added his recommendations to my response to the Sellers.
After closing on the house, within a few days and a hard rain, a stain showed up on the ceiling.  I called Bill Thompson and within a day he was removing the roof, replacing some damaged boards and putting on the new roof and chimney cap  We also added gutter guards to the gutters and they look great.  Bill's team placed tarps around the house to catch any debris and nails when they were removing the old shingles and this also protected my landscaping.
Bill Thompson provided great guidance on the roof, his workers were on time, very professional and did a great job!

"Breathsafe did a wonderful job with installation! They worked fast and in some yucky weather too get our right on mitigation system installed! They are very fairly priced and you can tell that they don’t make it a goal to profit off of customers, but rather just make a living. VERY kid friendly couple, Lances wife played hide and seek with my 4 year old. 😂 I would bring them back for any project they are qualified to complete!!"

"needed some patch work done on my front entry porch stairs.  He came over and gave me some suggestions on what could be done and how it would look.  Then he returned with his workers who completed the work.  It took a couple of trips for it to be completed but it looks amazing!  He returned my calls, answered my questions, completed job on time and didn't ask for more than was estimated from the start.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.
