James Jones did a great job! I highly recommend him and Barnhill Chimney Company. I’d been having trouble last winter with backdraft in my fireplace. James cleaned and inspected it. I appreciate that he took great care to keep my house clean. He was friendly and clearly explained the results of his inspection to me. It was easy to schedule the inspection. I appreciated that Barnhill called, emailed, and texted me before James was in his way so I could be there to meet him. The email and text also had a photo so I could feel confident with who showed up. Can’t say enough great things about this company.

As one not easily pleased or impressed, I am most happy to share that Barnhill Chimney exceeded my every expectation--wow, just wow! From the initial visits for estimates, to the time taken to fabricate components, to the component quality upon arrival, to the installation (which I inspected from all sides with binoculars), I will be recommending Barnhill Chimney to family, friends, and to the classes I teach. Thanks, Barnhill!

My husband and I bought a house with a wood burning stove, which we weren't sure if was operable. We were referred to Barnhill Chimney to inspect and sweep our stove by a family member and they did not disappoint! The technician, Blake, and his assistant were friendly, prompt, and considerate regarding keeping my house clean during the process. They did a great job and took time afterwards to answer several questions I had about my stove. We are still contemplating taking the stove out at some point and replacing, and if we do, we will definitely choose Barnhill to replace and do all of our future inspections. Can't recommend them highly enough!

My home is about 10 years old and I have my chimney cleaned almost every year. This year Barnhill said I needed extensive repairs to the mortar in the chimney which would require relining the chimney at a cost of over $6000. I asked about installing gas logs instead of continuing to burn wood and they said it would be too dangerous to even have gas logs. I contacted another very experienced chimney sweet who came and inspected my chimney, and he said it was fine and didn't need relining.

I highly recommend this company! They came when scheduled, did the work, showed me what was going on up there and were very friendly and professional throughout. They replaced 7 bricks, water proofed the whole thing and installed a new chimney cap. I will say this was different than another masonry company which strongly suggested I needed to replace my entire chimney. I very much appreciated working with them!

They found the fireplace was not installed properly and could not be used. The only negative comment is that they said they would send a written report about the problem and provide info regarding installing an electric or gas fireplace and didn't follow up.

Outstanding. Professional and progressive in both their craft, and in the company's approach to business. Fabricated stainless-steel chimney cap is a work of art.

Very well. Kyle & crew came by to look at the job. They jumped up on the roof to look at the chimney cap and crown and said the crown needed to be resurfaced. They also recommended waterproofing the exterior brick after cleaning. I agreed to the scope of the work.

The service man that came to look at my chimney was professional, sent me pictures of my chimney with a detailed estimate for replacing my insert fireplace along with the flu pipe. However, after getting a second estimate it was determined that some of the pictures that was listed on my estimate from Barnhill did not belong to my house. I contacted Barnhill with the complaint and was told the serviceman no longer was employed there. Barnhill did refund my money back.

I have to say that, ultimately, I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience with Barnhill and would not recommend them to anyone. They installed a gas insert into my existing fireplace and from the time of install it has had problems. First, the size of the unit was wrong, which they didn't catch when they first inspected the fireplace and ordered the insert, so I had to wait over a week for them to cut and paint a simple piece of metal to put over the gap between the unit and the fireplace. Then, the flame wasn't lighting properly, and it took over a week for someone to come and inspect that. While looking at the unit, I was told that the piece of metal had been cut wrong and would be replaced; I was also told that a solution would be found for the ignition problem and they would get back to me. That was weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. In the meantime, other problems have developed with the unit and the old problems persist.

Fabulous!! From the first phone call I felt I was being taken care of.I described what I needed and an appt was set up and I was told the cost. Today the technician called and said he could be at my home earlier than appt if that worked for me! Earlier! The metal seal was fabricated and installed in about an hour. It was determined that I needed a chimney cap to replace top damper since code says you aren't supposed to completely seal off a chimney - makes sense. The damper would need to be opened, but then weather would get in, and critters. He wasn't trying to sell me more than I needed as he told me I could save money and buy cap at Lowe's and install it. Because of his honesty and how things had gone - I opted to authorize the work.He said they usually collect half up front and I didn't need to be home for the outside work (he didn't have the cap I needed). I asked what about the other have of what was owed and was told they would bill me. How many companies do that anymore?
