"We just had our basement finished and there was alot of drywall dust kicked up. We hired Joey's Carpet Care to come clean our ducts. Our first interaction with Joey's was quick with them texting me a quote that was very reasonable. The guys texted before they came and were super professional, friendly and courteous. They were both very respectful of our home and took the time to show us what the ducts looked like before and after the cleaning. The cost was lower than even quoted and it was enjoyable working with Joey's. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future should we need any services."

"I will write the final review after the delivery of the carpet....but so far, after working with Ben, I have had a wonderful experience communicating and expecting the best results after witnessing how their company actually cleans the area rug...very important for me to know their techniques. I asked for a video to accompany their work and it will be made available...excellent!"

"It was an exceptional experience to work with this company. They provided carpet samples that were superior to others I looked at. The installation was seamless. I love my carpet and am very happy I did business with them. Iâ m about to carpet another area and Iâ m calling them for my quote."

"Really great! We had this company put in tile in two bathrooms. What I liked best was the fact that they brought tile samples to us so that we could take a look how they looked in the actual lighting etc. We were able to select tile and grout, and make all the decisions really, in the comfort of our own home. They do have a showroom that you can go visit if you prefer to do it that way, but having them come here really worked out for us - we have two little kiddos and we just let the kids watch a TV show and play with their toys while we selected tile with Jonathan's guidance. Jonathan made every effort to come up with an appointment time for that consultation to fit with my husband's busy work schedule. Also, it feels kind of exclusive not to have to worry about crowds, other shoppers, etc - when you can look at things quietly and calmly in your own home, it makes the process a whole lot of fun! There is a project manager, Stephen, and then the person who actually puts the tile in (we had Daniel, and we were thrilled with his work). When some small unforseen problems came up, Stephen and Daniel figured it out between them of how to proceed. This was with minimal disruption/changes to the schedule, and it didn't cost us any extra. The pricing was reasonable, and they REALLY do the job properly! They do not cut corners, they do haul away all their own trash, they clean up as they go... absolutely stellar. The result is beautiful! I'm really glad we went with Floor Coverings International, and we would not hesitate to go with them again for any future flooring needs."

"They paid particular attention to what I wanted and recommend a rug that would be appropriate. The installation team arrived on time and finished promptly. I've used them to install a wood floor in my family room and a carpet for my sun room. They are professional. They also clean up and recycle all debris."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Deciding whether to clean or replace your carpet depends on its condition and age. If cleaning no longer resolves issues, it's time to consider a replacement. Key signs that you need to replace your carpet include:

  • Stains that are impossible to remove.

  • A persistent smell that lingers even after cleaning.

  • An increase in allergy symptoms.

  • The age of the carpet. Most manufacturers state that carpets should last about 10 years with proper care.

When cleaning is no longer effective, you should replace the carpet with a new one or consider other flooring options like vinyl or laminate.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

While not always required, experts recommend removing baseboards before removing old carpet and installing a new one. This practice leads to a smoother process and a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. Removing the baseboards allows for a seamless carpet installation without the risk of damaging either the carpet or the trim. It also provides a good opportunity to repaint or stain the baseboards and inspect the underlying wall for any issues. If you prefer a quicker option, you can carefully cut the old carpet along the edge of the baseboards, but this may result in a less polished installation for the new carpet.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.
