"Charlie Clay the owner of Bluegrsss Cleaning Company was amazing. He came out to survey our carpet cleaning job and challenges and gave us his bid and information regarding his process, chemicals and schedule. We booked him immediately. He was on time, first completely dry vacuumed our areas. The he began the cleaning process including the spot left by the previous owner. He was here over three hours and was so very detailed oriented. He was friendly and very professional. He also as part of his service to return if we found any spots that after the carpet dried might not have been resolved. That is amazing and 5* customer service!!! Marilyn Love"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.

Carpet installation costs include carpet type (material, weave), room size, subfloor preparation, and labor costs. Getting multiple quotes provides a clearer picture of expected expenses.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.

Many DIYers and pros start installing flooring in the middle of a room to ensure a balanced, symmetrical layout, especially when using tiles or planks. This process is particularly helpful in odd-shaped rooms because it allows you to create a centerline from which to work. Beginning in the center will enable you to work toward the edges so the final layout feels intentional and centered, even if the walls aren’t perfectly square.
