"The technician (Danny P.) determined the flange on the toilet was loose. He was knowledgeable and professional. Because the toilet had been reset by different technician almost two months earlier, the company agreed to make the necessary repairs at no charge given the circumstances. I appreciate the company standing behind its work and correcting the issue at no additional expense. I would definitely use the company again."

"Thank you Leo, Bud, Angel and team. Am LOVING my new master bedroom/bathroom upstairs in my renovated attic. You guys did such a great job at nailing the look and feel I was going for...Open and lofty. Could not be happier. They added a dormer, jacuzzi tub and bathroom with the bedroom (400 square feet total) to my old German town bungalow. I gave them "like" pictures of what I wanted, and that's exactly what they created. The price was fair and the quality of work is great. But the best part was that when we ran into challenges or miscommunication issues (which will always happen with a job like this), these guys were so easy to work with to resolve any issues. That, and I liked them and trusted them in my home which is most important. Highly recommend Lend-A-Hand."

Small jobs welcome

"Mel was great! Very quick to answer my calls and came to inspect the issue right away. He finished my utility sink removal and install in now time. This was a big project--I had an old concrete/iron sink that weighed about 400 pounds. He was neat, professional, and friendly. I'm so glad I found him and I'm putting him on speed-dial."

Very detail oriented, quick responses to our questions and building choices.

Uses a program called Co-Construct keeping him and us on the same page during the building. This program also tracks payment schedule. As changes, adds, or deletes occur it follows all the tweaks in written versus verbal format.

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

First, check that you have cut off the water supply to your toilet. This is a project that can only be done safely if running water cannot reach your toilet fixture. If you're seeing water trickle out after you've confirmed that the water supply is shut off, you can probably rest assured that what you're seeing isn't a problem. It's common for leftover water to spill out when you're removing your toilet's fill valve. If something goes wrong while you're working on your toilet, you'll need to look at your home's policy to see if your homeowner insurance covers water damage.

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

Yes, you can clean a toilet tank with white vinegar. Before you do, shut off the water supply to the toilet. Then, flush it to empty the tank. Next, combine one part vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture inside the tank. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse away the vinegar by pouring clean water into the tank. Make sure the tank is empty, then dip a scrub brush in vinegar and clean the tank’s inside walls. Turn the water back on and flush again to rinse away the vinegar.
