"Our neighborhood was hit by a devastating hailstorm in 2022. The vinyl siding on the north sides of everyone's house was pocked with holes and gashes, roofs catastrophically damaged, broken windows, battered cars, tree limbs everywhere. Certainly, we had all seen storm damage much worse than what found after our storm, but we all braced for the challenges ahead: clean up, repair and even rebuild. As we picked up the pieces around our yards, contracting companies descended on our neighborhood. Dealing with the insurance end of the equation was already becoming a marathon--but the looming questions, who should we choose to repair our home, who will do the job well became a worrisome preoccupation for us and all of our neighbors. Our former neighbor, Ben F, drove by one day, and seeing me in the yard cleaning up, he stopped by to check in with us. Ben listened empathetically. He told us he had started to work for Craftsmen and asked us if we wanted him to give us an estimate. Ben told that us he had been impressed with the team at Craftsmen, that he had found a workplace guided by principles of integrity. As he put together the estimate, Ben was thorough and thoughtful, answering our endless questions with considerable knowledge and good advice. We trusted Ben as a friend, and after looking at other companies, we decided to go with Craftsmen--not only on Ben's recommendation, but on other positive feedback we received from people who had worked with them through the years. Over the course of a year of work, there were some issues that arose, perhaps not surprisingly, but each time and overall, Craftsmen listened to our concerns and acted fully to resolve them. But what made the difference was the consistent assurances we got from Phillip P, one of the company's owners, that Craftsmen would correct any issue to our satisfaction--a promise that our patient contractor, John B, followed up on, as we likely drove him crazy with anxiety filled texts. Steven S at the office ensured that we were scheduled for our repairs and any follow ups that came after. Ben’s hard work, Phillip's word, John's follow-through and the teamwork at Craftsmen all mattered! This experience has taught us that in the process of home repair and restoration (and I imagine in renovation too), you cannot let the idea of the perfect get in the way of the good. And Craftsmen delivers the goods! We have finally, and thankfully, come to the end of repairing our home! We 100% recommend Craftsmen if you are looking for a solid, local company that operates on principles of integrity and that goes the extra mile to ‘make it right.’ Craftsmen, like other companies following the hail event, met a different sort of storm—a storm of people needing repairs. The unusual circumstance meant that Craftsmen had to learn how to navigate a disaster event along the way. But as they learned best practices in the aftermath of our storm, they stood by their work. Now, as we stroll through our neighborhood, we often note how lucky we were to have made the best choice! "We cannot recommend this company enough. The whole process was seamless from start to finish. Sam and Ben came out to give us a quote in a timely manner and showed up as scheduled. Both were so friendly and willing to quote us numerous projects were wanting to have done in the future. The quote for removing a board where a 2nd story deck was, adding siding in its place, removing the second story outside lights and fixing trim on a window we had put in was 1/3 the price of another company who quoted us just for the siding part alone. The other company told us they would have to replace the siding from the ground all the way up to where the board was attached to the house but this company said that wasn’t necessary. Sam and Ben made us feel important and like no job was too small and they seemed happy to get our business and we’re very professional yet down to earth and didn’t mind laughing and joking around. Once we agreed for them to do the work, they were very prompt to let us know what day the team would come to do the work, even working around our work schedules to make it work for us. The team member who came to do the work, Daniel was excellent! He was extremely nice as well and worked all day on the job. When he went to put the siding on he notified us that Home Depot had given him the wrong siding instead of what was ordered so he had to go back to get the correct siding but we were really impressed that instead of rescheduling the remainder of our job (because he still had another one after us) he came back with the correct siding and continued to work until our house was complete. Sam and Ben even stopped back by the day the work was being completed to ensure we were happy with the work that had been done and made sure there were no issues. From start to finish everything went better then with any other company we have hired to do jobs for us in the past. I don’t think we will ever go with any other company now going forward for work we need done. You can’t beat perfection! Thanks again to the whole team. "Hired to repair (February 2023) on a roof a tree fell onto. Didn't start until about mid-april. Was told they got permits...they did not. Was told they were licensed in Frankfort...they were not. Paid $15,500 to start. Estimate was at $63,000+ then lowered to around $36,000+after found out that was about what the insurance would pay for. Had to personally supervise their employees who spoke no English or very little. Had to clean up afterwards daily (when they did show up). Promise after promise. Still waiting on vent for gable end to be installed... haven't heard anything from them in months...which was supposed to have been completed and just needed painting six months or more. Then later told it still had to be built. Been left in dark for past four months. No phone calls. When I did call them to find out info on progress...one excuse after another. It's been a headache from the start. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND them!"

"We highly recommend Own Restoration! They were very prompted coming out, within a couple of days they were back and project completed. Will hire them again. We have to praise Alex too. Very professional and very likable, helpful and has goodness in his heart. Six months after project, with all this rain and wind the gutter became loose, messaged Alex , promptly got back and said they would take care of it and that they did! Give them a call! They won’t let you down!"

"Project started out well paid 7000 upfront. They finished approximately three-quarter of my roof due to needing chimney rebuilt. The remainder of the roof needed to wait for flashing. I paid in full. The total cost of the roof have been trying to reach back out for a completion due to all of the wet weather we have had not only is my roof not completed. No one will return my phone calls the phone number on the card is not a working number and I do not have the cell phone number of the foreman. It would be nice for them to reach back out to finish the job they was hired to do. If not, I will contact my attorney and begin action."
