"I had asked them to come to clean the chimney following the successful eviction of a family of raccoons by a wildlife specialist, and to install chimney caps that we had previously purchased in order to keep out future visitors (and rain).  They came, took pictures inside the chimney, and told me there was nothing for them to clean because there hadn't been any fires in the fireplace.  They did find and remove one seriously foul-smelling paper towel, but found no excrement; evidently that had all fallen down past the damper into the fireplace already, and I had already cleaned it up. 
They installed the one chimney cap that would fit; discussed the options regarding custom-made caps, described the chimney as within normal limits of deterioration from water but recommended considering repairs sometime within the next few years--no pressure.
I appreciated that they charged only for the installation of the single chimney cap after trying to install both, and not
for the chimney cleaning (sweeping) when they determined it was not necessary.  
The only thing I wish had gone better is that they would have had some sort of magical cleaning process to remove the stench of raccoon urine from the chimney, but at least they had a suggestion about that: a canister of odor-eating citrus gel,
available at Home Depot.  (THAT is not magic either!  It seems to be helping--maddeningly gradually, however.)
