"The crew was on time and did an excellent job. The tree had to be climbed for the limbs to be removed due to the tree's location. They completed the job quickly and cleaned up the debris. We would definitely call them again!!"

"Bonito and his crew were very personable and professional. Was on time, on day agreed on with no delays. Even did additional work requested at last minute with no complaints. Truly customer oriented, (which seems to be lacking in too many businesses nowadays). Would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a good tree service company."

"Very professional the crew arrived on time and was focused on the project. They trimmed an existing tree and removed a large cedar tree that had fallen . Removed all the logs and limbs off my property including grinding the stump . The clean up was amazing They quoted me a very competitive price that was fair . I would recommend them for all your tree work small and large. They will be the only one I call on all my tree work . Great job ALDO"

"Tim came out and took a look at my tree, gave me options and I chose to cut it down. He provided me with a solid estimate with the work to be completed. I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing job the team did for me. Tim and his crew were on time, professional, courteous. They made sure the job was done safely. They had a system in place and moved through it seamlessly! I could not believe how nice a job they did with removing the tree debris, limbs, big branches and trunk. They ground the stump, back filled the considerable hole and cleaned up everything. The price was more than reasonable for the job they completed for me! Leading up to the tree removal (a big oak that was diseased) Tim kept in contact if times or days needed to be changed due to the recent daily rain."

"Can't recommend Henry enough. He did an amazing job. Had to haul away a large part of a tree, left no trace of the stumps behind, and was the best price we found after quoting 5 other local companies."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

Many gardeners charge an hourly rate for their services, and your total cost will depend on the amount of services and the experience of the gardener. Gardeners with basic experience charge between $20 and $30 per hour, while a more experienced gardener can charge as much as $60 to $88 per hour.

The cost of lawn mowing is about $125, which you might need on a weekly or biweekly basis. However, the cost of soil testing averages about $1,450, which should only be done every three to five years.

Finding a reliable arborist starts with researching specialists in your area and checking their licensing and certifications. Use online resources like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to conduct research on each company. Next, contact the arborist and ask the following questions to see whether they are the right fit for your project:

  • Do you handle or specialize in dealing with the issue I’m having?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • Do you have customer references I can call?

  • Do you have any third-party certifications?

  • What equipment and strategies do you plan to use?

Sometimes, knowing when you need tree-trimming services is straightforward, and other times, you have to do some investigating. Some tell-tale signs that you should have your tree trimmed include:

  • A poorly-formed tree with unruly branches, which makes the tree appear odd-shaped.

  • A tree with tall or large branches that interfere with power lines or your home’s exterior.

  • A tree that provides too much shade in the yard due to branch overgrowth.
