When I called 6 hours later to leave a message saying my unit was still cycling and hadn't shut off, the owner called me back that evening(tho I asked only that he call the next day), explained what was probably happening (still cooling down), why (he had called the service guy and found it was 86 degrees when he came), and when to expect it to change. He was right. And I'm a very happy customer. These people understand what "service" means - or used to mean!"

"They are wonderful. We have a yearly contract with them. They are johnny-on-the-spot to do all our maintenance. Our other furnace was over 15 years old and we wouldn't have been able to keep it that long without all the maintenance they did. We didn't have to spend a lot. We had a freon leak and they couldn't find it. Freon is getting to the point that you can't buy it. They gave us different options and we went with the best one for us. They advised us. We were very pleased with them. They did it in a timely fashion and did everything they should have. Their timing was a little slow. Their service guys were punctual and here when they said they would be."

"they reported that they did the best they could and they needed to do a chemical clean which was $1,200, and that there had probably been a chimney fire and they would write the report for insurance claim because if so, there would be $4-5k worth of damage. Scared me to death. I got a second opinion, and no such fire. If I had paid the $1200 i would still be left with a non-functioning chimney. Really felt it was a scam and I will get a 3rd opinion before just dropping that kind of money on something that still wouldn't work until I invested another $3k to actually address the issues of the fireplace."

"Guy that came out said that it was an issue of the boiler not having enough water. He turned the valve to force water to it and and ended making a mess in my basement floor of black gunk water that I had to clean up. Idk if that was necessarily the issue, he said that’s all it was and nothing else needs to be done. He didn’t provide any type of explanation as to why it wasn’t getting enough water when turned on as this is something that should be self regulated, not something I should have to monitor anytime I turn my heat on. I won’t even necessarily know if this is the case and it’s fixed until fall rolls around again and we need heat, as it is now warming up. I hope that he was correct but quite pessimistic, and felt that a more thorough check should of been done."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
