"It went great!! Justin showed up on time& repaired everything that other companies said that couldn't be fixed and that I needed a new ac system. Saved me thousands of dollars!!! He put in a uv light that kills the flu virus & electronic air cleaner that keeps better indoor air quality. He was very respectful!! He respected my time, respect my home by wearing shoe covers and respect me by wearing a mask!! The price was reasonable & now I have a nice cool, clean & quiet home!!! Thank you Justin!!!"

"Jackson replied almost immediately to my message, on a Sunday no less. He gave me an arrival time and actually arrived early. He went straight to work and quickly identified the issue and within half an hour, my heat pump was once again blowing cool air (it is 93 degrees today). Such a nice and professional young man. I highly recommend him!!!!"

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Signs that your A/C system needs professional service include increased energy bills, uneven or poor cooling, loud or unusual noises, and frequent cycling.

Choosing a unit with higher BTUs can use more electricity if the BTUs are more than what’s necessary for your room size. However, choosing an AC with BTUs that match the size of your room or house, your unit will cool your space efficiently. On the flip side, choosing a system with not enough BTUs can cause the system to work harder to try to cool the space, leading to more electricity consumption and higher energy bills.

Some HVAC systems tend to use R410A refrigerant, although if you have an older model it may be using R22. R22 is banned due to its harmful environmental and health impacts, and it is a sign that your AC unit is old enough to consider a replacement and the significant efficiency gains that could come with it.

For the most part, you should leave your AC fan in “auto” mode so that it only runs during a heating or cooling cycle. Keeping it in this position uses less energy, which equals lower utility bills. However, there are some situations where it’s better to leave your AC fan on, including if you have allergies or there are lots of people in your home.

A blockage in the ductwork may prevent air from flowing through the vent. If some rooms in your home are very hot or cold and another isn't, that can be a sign that a vent is blocked. Another sign of a blockage is a buildup of dirt or dust around the vent. In either case, a duct installer or cleaning service can investigate the issue for you and recommend a course of action.
