Small jobs welcome

"Punctual, polite, and work done in a very reasonable time. I had actually used them last year but lost the paperwork with details. So glad I was able to find them again and the information is now in a safe place for contacting next year. I appreciate that they also moved an old grill to the curb as it was too heavy. I plan to see what other work they can do for me (like gutter cleaning). My deck is looking great!"

"Both Anderson and Christian were very professional and did a great job with mowing our lawn. They took out the additional needed time later in the day to put dirt and level a developing ground sink with nominal added cost. Would 100% recommend."

"Aaron and CJ did a fantastic job! They powerwashed the house, repainted the shutters, and did some repair to the siding. The price was very reasonable and it looks great! I would certainly call them again."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Aside from a professional light installation company, there are a few other pros who may be able to help you hang Christmas lights. Along with specialty holiday decorators, a handyperson near you can also hang Christmas lights (and can fix that pesky drippy sink while they’re at it). Either way, not all of these pros will offer the service, so be sure to call ahead and get multiple quotes before you hire.

Nails are a popular choice for hanging string lights, but they are not the only option. Use outdoor hooks, zip ties, or even awning hangers to string up lights outdoors. For indoor lights, use simple tacks, zip ties, damage-free adhesive hooks, or drawing pins. When all else fails, just wrap the lights around some furniture or outdoor fixtures.

If you don’t have a ladder, you may be able to use a light-hanging pole. If not, you’ll have to rent a bucket lift or other machinery to reach your roof.

It’s not a good idea to mix LED and incandescent Christmas lights if you can avoid it. LEDs and incandescents can have significantly different electrical current needs. This difference can lead to a higher risk of problems and failure for both light strands. When possible, switch all your lights over to one kind or the other for the best results. Do not connect the different types of light strings to each other, and avoid linking them to the same circuit.

There are several ways to hang Christmas lights safely. Here are some key Christmas light safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Always use Christmas lights and extension cords that are rated for outdoor use.

  • Don’t overload outlets by plugging in too many lights.

  • Opt for LED lights for a safer display that saves on energy costs.

  • Do not use old or broken Christmas lights.
