"From their office customer service, to their onsite crew, and from their follow up on the services performed..they did an excellent job all around. They completed the job the day of, even with running into an unexpected repair that my roof/chimney needed. They were able to fix that and stay right on schedule. Also, the business owner came back personally at the end of the day to inspect the work himself. All was done with the utmost quality. And all debris in the yard was cleaned up carefully after the job was completed. I would recommend them to anyone needing any work done on their home."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"We were very happy with the job Greg did. He came out to give us an estimate in a timely manner. He was very thorough in assessing the problems with our chimney. We have an older house, and so he did a walk-around to check the rest of our masonry.
We had mentioned to Greg that we had some water damage in the house but we didn't know where it was coming in. While he was working, he noticed  that our front porch roof needed new flashing, and that may be the source of our moisture problem. He recommended a person to do the job. We had also asked him about some concrete work that we need done, and he gave us helpful advice and an estimate on that work as well.
Greg was always on time and professional. Rain interrupted things, but Greg and his associate, John, were on the job as soon as the weather permitted, and even came on Saturday morning to finish up.
We are very confident in the work that he did. Other estimates that we received included replacing the cap, but Greg recognized that the cap we had was a very good one, so he was able to paint it rather than replace it. Greg noticed that there was a brick missing at the roof line. He happened to have an old brick that matched ours, and fixed that as well.
Greg is a truly nice person. (He and John even took a few minutes to help our son with his car.)
We highly recommend Greg. "

"The owner, Mike, came out and talked with my husband and me about the new roof and the type of shingles we might want. He was very knowledgeable and didn't try to oversell us. He asked us questions and didn't speak only to my husband. He answered all of our questions completely and explained about the differences in shingles and their warranties and even the trends in the industry. Based on our conversation, he did not try to sell us the most expensive product, and even told us why we did not need it. I had also told him that our upstairs was too hot and asked him about other ventilation options. I learned about gable vents, ridge vents and fans that day! He recommended solar fans, if I wanted an active venting system, as there are no wires and no electricity used. We agreed, and the other venting methods were removed and the solar fans installed. Now it is over a month later, my roof is beautiful and my upstairs does not have the great temperature difference it did before. I recently had a party and one of my guests asked me if I had a separate furnace/air conditioner for the upstairs because it was so cool. I told her it must be the solar fans, because it didn't used to be that way! My last comment will be that the price was very reasonable and the work excellent; I highly, highly recommend!"

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

Regular cleaning of filters and checking ducting ensures effective operation.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

Ensures safe electrical connections and proper venting, improving kitchen air quality.
