"I couldn't be any more pleased with the absolutely great job Hi Tech Duct Cleaning did. When I called to inquire, Aaron did a very thorough job explaining what they would do. He also asked how many registers and returns I have so he was able to give me an exact estimate that held true to what the final cost was. The technicians on the job were Caleb, Jason, and Will. They were very conscientious and professional. There is no way any other duct company could do a finer job. If you're thinking about having your ducts cleaned, don't wait. You'll be glad you did. It is worth it knowing that you're breathing cleaner, healthier air!"

"The biggest obstacle was scheduling.  The Angie's List confirmation email did not include the instruction to schedule on the Flow-Rite web site.  It took 3 or 4 emails to clarify that which delayed getting the work scheduled.
The replacement parts worked fine with the exception of some excess plastic on the valve which prevented a tight seal and thus lead to a running toilet.  It took a few minutes with the razor blade to cut the excess off and allowed the seal to form properly.  This probably should have been done by the installer.

"Very expensive service... I was charged 210 dollars for 5-minute reprogramming of my new ecobee4 thermostat. I requested a technician to come to check my Air conditioner as my electric bill was higher compared to the last year.. he found nothing wrong with the system. I suggested to him that it might be the newly installed ecobee4 thermostat. He checked the wiring was good. He found out that it's set up to auxiliary heat as primary and reprogrammed it and charged me 210 dollars without letting me know it will be that expensive prior to the reprogramming... Imagine, 5-minute setup of the thermostat and they charge you 210 dollars.. I will never recommend them to anyone"

"Our HVAC system was 24 years old when Steve assessed our needs and listened to what we were looking for in a new HVAC system. His recommendations, costs, warranty, and commitment for any follow up services, were exactly what we were looking for! We spoke with several satisfied customers and were absolutely convinced to go with Tri State Mechanical Consultants and Steve! Steve was very patient with me as I asked dozens of questions while he installed our new systems. To this day, Steve will call to see if I have any questions or issues. I highly recommend this company and Steve!"

"On 7-29-2021 I put a post out on my local FB Community Page. Dan Sizemore with Jacobs Mechanical responded to my post and direct messaged me via FB Messenger. The fan on my external AC unit was not engaging and the temperature in my home had reached a stuffy 81 degrees. My fiancé and I have an eleven month old daughter who is in a Spica cast (essential a body cast from her chest to her toes) so it is critical to keep her cool. We had to camp her out in our basement the night before in her pack and play instead of her bedroom due to the rising temperature and her tendency to sweat. I was unable to call the office to set the appointment because I was on a four hour conference call I couldn't break away from. Using the unconventional methods of scheduling between FB Messenger and work emails Dan was able to coordinate his technician to arrive within minutes of when my conference call ended. Aaron, The Jacobs Mechanical technician showed up, assessed my problem and dove into fixing it. He was extremely thorough, explained what he was doing, showed me why it was failing and once maintenance was completed and he verified everything was functional and back together, left without a trace of ever being at my home. The effort made my Dan and his team to shift their appointments around due to my unique situation and prioritize my request on top of his teams professionalism and cleanliness has made Jacobs Mechanical my preferred HVAC Contractor. Jacobs mechanical epitomizes professionalism, cleanliness, product knowledge and most importantly they show up on time and are eager to get the job done and get you back on track. I would urge anyone who is having any HVAC issues to reach out to Jacobs and speak to Dan."

Install Boiler FAQs, answered by experts

The best way to compare HVAC quotes is getting a few detailed quotes from local companies with good reputations. Then, go over the quotes line by line. Protect yourself by insisting on in-person estimates that include equipment manufacturer names, model numbers, SEER ratings, amounts and numbers of materials, details of warranties on equipment and labor, and other specifics.

Knowing the exact equipment and materials is the only way that you can fairly compare quotes. Quotes that are much lower than others can be a sign that the company isn’t providing the best quality service or materials.

Scale from hard water is hard to diagnose until it starts causing problems. If your area has particularly hard water, that’s most likely what your boiler is using. If scale build-up becomes a problem, it starts to cause decreased flow and heating, and eventually, valve failures as valves become blocked. Let boiler professionals know if you’re worried about scale and they can offer advice or implement a solution.

While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:

  • When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.

  • You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.

  • Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.

  • Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.

Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.

If you want to have hot water in your home and part of your plumbing system, you'll need a hot water heater. An alternative may be to heat water as you use it, such as by boiling what you need on the stove. But that's much less efficient and takes considerably longer than hooking up a water heater. Another option is to rely on appliances, such as a dishwasher or washing machine, that heat the water themselves.
