"Super nice guy. Easy to work with . We opted to have the original spa pump motor rebuild instead of replacement . Good value and pump did not end up in a land fill . Will use Richard again !"

"Reached out for help opening my families pool through a Facebook group. Collegiate Pools responded and was very friendly and professional in their approach. I spoke with the owner Stephanie and she fully explained all their services and costs. We ultimately decided to go with their company over several others that offered to help and we are glad we did. We will definitely be repeat customers."

"I hired Scott to clean my pool. He came to give me an estimate for services but upon assessment of the pool he did not complete the job. This was not a bad thing. He didn’t complete the job because of his integrity , professionalism and kindness. He could have completed the job just for financial gain but he did not. He pointed out some things that needed to be corrected/repaired before he could do the cleaning. Another company with less integrity would likely have done the job anyway! I usually don’t write reviews but this one has to be submitted . In a world where everyone finds it difficult to trust strangers this company has won my trust!! I will reach out to them in the future!! If your looking for a company that will be honest with you.. this is the company.. Thank you Scott"

"Jackson was on time and very professional! We are new pool owners with a lot of questions. Jackson took his time explaining everything he was doing and educating us on how our pump/filter works! I plan on using his services again if needed and I highly recommend contacting Jackson for your pool needs!"

"Tim and his crew was awesome. They showed up on time and were efficient. They cleaned up afterwards as well. There was a problem with the liner and Tim noticed it because of his vast experience in pool installation. We had to get another liner and Tim agreed to come back and change out the liner on a Saturday. He did not have to do that but he wanted me to be satisfied even though the issue with the liner was not his fault at all."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Hot tub heaters typically last seven to 10 years, though some might only last five years if not properly maintained. You can maximize your hot tub heater’s lifespan by ensuring the water’s pH level is properly balanced.

When your hot tub is not in use, you can keep it at a constant soaking temperature of around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For extended periods of non-use, you can lower the temperature by about five degrees. This slight decrease makes it easier and quicker to heat back up to a desirable level when you're ready to use it again. Additionally, you might consider lowering the temperature by a couple of degrees during the summer to avoid feeling overheated.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.

Yes. If you test the water and the alkalinity is too low, you can raise it by adding an alkalinity increaser, which likely came with your hot tub’s chemical kit. In a pinch, you can use baking soda to raise the hot tub’s alkalinity. Raising the alkalinity will prevent the hot tub water from becoming too acidic.

It’s possible to move a hot tub on its side or base as long as it fits snugly in the moving truck, with plenty of padding around it. This moving method requires specialized equipment and careful planning, like moving straps, dollies, and moving blankets.
