"I highly recommend using Reliable Insulation for your home needs. I used them for attic insulation, underfloor insulation, vapor barrier, and putting a screen over the vent in my attic. They were very professional, honest, and hardworking. They did a thorough inspection and estimate and were very honest about what my house needed. They were in constant communication with me about what was going on. They were able to add on a few extra projects like adding a 2nd attic access and putting a screen in the attic. They were careful to lay down tarps to cover the bed and items when they were going to cut drywall, and left my house cleaner than when they came. I would absolutely use Reliable Insulation again!"

"They were prompt in following up on my inquiry for quote. I was given a time for when they would be available for the site visit. They showed up when scheduled-inspected my attic for what I needed to do to obtain the suggested R rating. I elected to accept their quote & was scheduled for installation within a week. They showed up on time & work was done in timely manner. They reviewed the pictures of the insulation they blew in -measure tape -I required an average of 10? -due to the settling of the 20 year old insulation that was put in at time my unit was built. The crew was very professional, courteous & respectful. They did a great job and I was pleased with everything & everyone I worked with during this project."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

You should leave a gap between drywall sheets because they naturally expand and contract along with the building framing as temperature and humidity change. Most pro drywall installers leave a gap of about ⅛ inch between drywall sheets, allowing the sheets to expand, contract, and shift without cracking or becoming damaged. If you don’t leave enough gaps between slabs, the edges will press against each other when they expand, and the pressure can cause visible cracks.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

Regular inspections, repainting, and avoiding moisture exposure help maintain integrity.

You’ll get better results if you soundproof the whole wall. A hole through which light can pass can also let sound waves in. Acoustical or silicone sealant applied to holes and cracks can block enough sound to make a difference. However, the more layers absorb vibrations and slow or stop sound waves, the less noise you’ll have.
