"Fast and fair estimate. Did an excellent job blending knockdown ceiling on a repair. Great job staying in contact throughout the process. Definitely would recommend to others and will use again for any drywall issues."

"Really happy with the drywall installation! The crew was easy to work with, respectful, and showed up ready to get the job done. They worked quickly but didn?t cut corners, and everything was left neat and tidy. The finish came out smooth and looks great. I?d definitely recommend them if you need drywall work done!"

Small jobs welcome

"Tammy, Rueben and the whole crew have been amazing! I had a flood in my home back in May which left me heartbroken. Dimension Drywall replaced all my sheetrock, painted the whole 1200 square ft. basement, did the trim and baseboards. They finished the whole job less than a week, cleaned everything up very nice, and even moved my furniture for me. I could not be more pleased with their work and their pricing is very competitive. I highly recommend this crew, and will refer them to friends and family. I love the finished product and so thankful to have found them!! Thank you guys. I'm truly grateful!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.

You can put drywall mud over paint to even out the surface or entirely resurface it. Sand the surface with 280-grit sandpaper, vacuum the debris and dust with a shop vac, and clean it with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the surface to dry. Apply drywall primer, especially if you’re skim-coating an entire wall. Apply the right type of drywall mud over the surface and smooth it with a trowel. Allow the layer to cure fully, then sand it before applying another layer or painting it.

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Popular wall textures include orange peel, knockdown, spray sand, and smooth finishes. Orange peel and knockdown are particularly common choices for drywall as they are simple and cost-effective. Orange peel texture has a lightly bumpy surface resembling the skin of an orange, while knockdown (sometimes called knockout) looks like a stucco finish with flattened high spots. In contrast, popcorn texture has fallen out of fashion, partly due to its past association with asbestos and a shift toward more restrained interior design styles.
