Customers say: Quality work

"What began as a bathroom floor tiling job turned into a full bathroom remodeling job. Pablo Carrera and his talented crew saved our bathroom from complete deterioration. Who knew the shower and window were leaking? And for how long. They replaced rotten and moldy wood, built a beautiful bathroom, and left the place spotless. Everyone involved was friendly and professional, and the top-notch work was done at a very reasonable price."

Small jobs welcome

"Austin was awesome! He gave me a bid to tile my exterior front porch which he honored even though it took a little longer (labor wise) than he expected. Most of that was my fault as I told him we were buying porcelain tile but we ended up buyer slate tile. He pivoted and proceeded to install. Once he had a few rows installed he said this will look better with a “enhancer” sealer that will darken the tile ( which we wanted) and it would protect it as well. This was specific to natural stone. Since we told him porcelain he didn’t have that with him so after hours he went and purchased it and then showed me how to apply so I could maintain the natural stone every 6 months or so. Austin was always on time and showed up on the days he said he would be at my house. And most importantly was always in a good mood and seemed to genuinely like what he does for a living! I whole heartily recommend Austin and his crew and have already recommended him to others!!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The average cost for tile installation is about $2,000, with a typical price range between $500 and $6,500. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 for installation.

Several factors influence the total cost, including:

  • Installation Site: Costs vary for different areas. Common project costs are: kitchen floor ($870–$6,100), countertop or backsplash ($500–$3,000), bathroom floor ($300–$2,400), or shower wall ($225–$2,000).

  • Tile Type and Quality: The material significantly impacts price. For example, standard ceramic or travertine tile can cost about $1 per square foot, while luxury options like marble can be as much as $350 per square foot for the material alone.

  • Project Size and Complexity: The total square footage, the complexity of the pattern, and the shape of the tile (e.g., square, rectangle, hexagon, mosaic) will affect labor and material costs.

  • Site Preparation: The amount of prep work needed, such as removing old tile or installing a new subfloor or backer board, can add to the final price.

  • Tile Characteristics: The tile's durability rating and porosity can also influence the price.

  • Location: Labor rates vary by geographic location.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all best tile for a dog shower. Consider your budget, tile durability, aesthetics, and, most importantly, practicality. Avoid tiles your dog will slide around on. Pebbles are a great non-slip option, but are pricey and tricky to install. Glass might look modern, but it’s not scratch-resistant. Small, floor-rated ceramic or porcelain tiles are economical and have many grout lines that make the surface more slip-resistant. Pick a matte finish rather than a shiny tile if you want it to hide stray mud and hairs better.

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.

Figure out how much tile you need by measuring the backsplash area. Measure the height and length in feet and multiply to get the square footage. Don’t make adjustments for outlets or small cutouts but subtract the square footage for windows or other large obstructions from the total. To account for waste, get 10% more than your calculation.
