"Double H Tree Care did an amazing job trimming back several overgrown trees that were hanging over my roof. They were very professional and made sure not to damage any property. The trees are now shaped beautifully. Great communication from start to finish. I highly recommend them for any tree trimming needs!"

"He showed up on time and went right to work. He had the tree completely down in about 30 minutes. I told him I would haul the tree away so I could save some money. He was only at my house for about 45 minutes total. He did a great job. If I need another tree removed I will call D & T tree service."

"Some service was performed. I was quoted for two trees at a total of $500. They took care of the one that was on our house. But they said they would be back to pick up the stump and to finish the other tree. that was about Three weeks ago."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

A pro can guide you on the alternatives to tree topping depending on the specific issues within your trees. For example, if you’re dealing with breakage and cracks in your tree, they may suggest canopy reduction, which removes less than 25% of the tree’s limbs. If you’re dealing with lesser damage, some intentional pruning may be all you need. If you’re looking to get a clearer view through your tree, the pro may also try windowing or skirting your tree.

Yes, carefully prune back dead branches—don’t wait for pruning season. This helps keep your maple tree healthy and also helps prevent large branches from falling unexpectedly. Don’t seal the cut branch—trees can naturally take care of these wounds—but be sure to remove any source of fungus or pest infestation to help save the tree.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.
