"My only concern is that the poison used was applied in generous amounts that gave me a headache and dizziness for several hours. My experience was with Terminex only. and they used only a little bit of spray but worked. They are more expensive and I did not like some other aspects of their business. Pestworkx will be back after 1 month. I will get out of the house entirely but I have concerns about the product and its effect on humans and pets."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Earwigs are omnivores, so they have a varied diet. Generally, they feast on decaying organic matter, leaves, flowers, and vegetables. They’ll also eat other insects (dead or alive) like aphids, sowbugs, and mites.

Professionals employ protective measures such as covering or temporarily relocating plants, minimizing chemical usage, and carefully planning construction routes to avoid damage. These precautions preserve the integrity and appearance of the landscaping during projects.

Wasp removal is challenging for pros and novices and carries the risk of painful stings. Therefore, it’s not surprising that wasp removal is not free. You can save money by going the DIY route, but paying a professional exterminator increases the chance of effective removal—and keeps you from painful wasp stings.

Having a few spiders in your home is okay and in many cases can be beneficial. Spiders can help reduce the presence of other pests, such as flying gnats and mosquitos. If you fear that you have a venomous spider living in your house or a large infestation, you should hire a spider exterminator to help you remove it.

Squirrels have a strong sense of smell and can be deterred by various scents they dislike. Effective options include peppermint oil, rosemary, garlic, cinnamon, white vinegar, coffee grounds, and predator urine. Squirrels also have a strong aversion to capsaicin, the compound that makes chili peppers hot, making capsaicin-based repellents a good choice for protecting specific areas like gardens or bird feeders. For a DIY solution, you can create a garlic and vinegar spray and apply it daily. Additionally, placing strong-smelling items like certain soaps or dryer sheets near where squirrels frequent can also be effective.
