"Mr. Donohue is very knowledgeable and has excellent experience in the lightning protection area. He responds quickly and has a very professional team of workers. He quoted the job using google earth information. When he visited the site he reduced his price by over 50%. I highly recommend him and I will use his company again."

"Rocky was very pleasant and professional. I live in an older home ((over 75yr old) so had a years of different wiring that previous owners installed (some incorrectly) He updated my electrical panel , some rewiring and new outside reciprocals. His prices were fair and I feel safer in my home. I will highly recommend him."

"These young men were so professional and personable. They were honest and actually told us on several areas that we were just using the wrong type of light bulb, instead of charging us. I would highly recommend J & C, but please wait because I have more work for them to do and I want first dibs. 😀"

"I was contacted by a Tech at the assigned time and had to run to the store for a cable I needed. When I called back, I had a different Tech, but he was able to continue right where I had left off. There was no need to explain anything again. Awesome."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You can move an electric meter outside if you currently have one inside your home. This is considered a larger move, so be prepared to pay on the upper end of $600 to $1,200. When hiring a professional electrician to move your electric meter, be sure to specify its current location and desired location, including pictures if possible.

Electrical fixes are best handled by a licensed electrician, but it’s possible to release a wire connection on your own. Be sure to always turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker before beginning your project to avoid electric shock. Carefully insert the tip of a flat screwdriver into the rectangular hole beneath the wire. Hold the outlet in the palm of your other hand. Pull out the wire as you apply pressure with the screwdriver.

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. If you’re concerned about the minimal bump to your electricity consumption, you can opt for smart tint, which doesn’t require electricity to work.

Yes, splicing wires can cause a fire if the splicing is done incorrectly. This is why splicing wires is a task best handled by electricians. One of the most common mistakes made when splicing wires is not using a wire connector. Without a wire connector, electricity flows unsheathed and can result in a home electrical fire.

A multimeter does not measure frequency, charge, inductance, and other electrical quantities. Instead, it measures voltage (AC and DC), current, and resistance.
