"Once the electrical box was opened and assessed it was apparent that the electrical box was pulled away from the house wall by the ground settling. Much of the wood frame behind the box had experienced water damage requiring long screws to seek enough wood meat to pull the box back to the brick wall. A vertical slip sleeve pipe was installed to adjust for the horizontal piping in the ground settling. The owner agreed to add foam, calking to help seal the wall box to the house wall and add a sloped top cover and sides to add additional protection from future heavy rain. This was an original construction land settling issue that is not uncommon."

"I hired Carver Electrical to install a new light fixture in each of my kids closets. Eric did a great job and I have had no trouble with the fixtures. He was polite, efficient, and cleaned up everything when he was done. He was able to get me on his schedule fast and his price was great. I would definitely use him again. Highly recommend."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

I’ve been in the electrical trade for over 10 yrs and can do rewire to new construction troubleshooting and inspections of residential electrical systems. Prefer rural areas and farms. Quality work at an affordable rate and not at a big electrical company expense with large overhead, give me a chance to address your electrical needs. Thank you And God bless

"Rocky was very pleasant and professional. I live in an older home ((over 75yr old) so had a years of different wiring that previous owners installed (some incorrectly) He updated my electrical panel , some rewiring and new outside reciprocals. His prices were fair and I feel safer in my home. I will highly recommend him."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Leaving lights on raises the electric bill, but not as much as having high-wattage light bulbs. The best way to save on electric costs is to swap your light bulbs to LED or CFL bulbs that use far fewer watts. You can also use smart lights and light switches to control usage via a smartphone or voice-controlled device.

Yes, you can daisy chain outlets, which involves connecting multiple outlets in series. However, ensuring the circuit can handle the additional load is important to avoid overloading and tripping the breaker. The total number of outlets on a single circuit should not exceed the recommended limit, typically eight on a 15-amp circuit. Hiring a licensed electrician is always advisable for complex installations or if you're unsure of what to do.

On average, the cost to wire a new home ranges from $2 to $5 per square foot. The cost to rewire a house is around the same, ranging from $2 to $4 per square foot. Often, though, new wiring comes with lower overall costs since it’s much easier to access a home’s foundation.

A circuit breaker flipping off when it detects an overloaded circuit isn’t a problem, but flipping the switch frequently can damage it and eventually cause an electrical hazard. If you’re going on a long vacation or leaving your home for the season, you should avoid turning off your circuit breaker to prevent electrical damage to your system.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.
