"I hired Carver Electrical to install a new light fixture in each of my kids closets. Eric did a great job and I have had no trouble with the fixtures. He was polite, efficient, and cleaned up everything when he was done. He was able to get me on his schedule fast and his price was great. I would definitely use him again. Highly recommend."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

I’ve been in the electrical trade for over 10 yrs and can do rewire to new construction troubleshooting and inspections of residential electrical systems. Prefer rural areas and farms. Quality work at an affordable rate and not at a big electrical company expense with large overhead, give me a chance to address your electrical needs. Thank you And God bless

"Once the electrical box was opened and assessed it was apparent that the electrical box was pulled away from the house wall by the ground settling. Much of the wood frame behind the box had experienced water damage requiring long screws to seek enough wood meat to pull the box back to the brick wall. A vertical slip sleeve pipe was installed to adjust for the horizontal piping in the ground settling. The owner agreed to add foam, calking to help seal the wall box to the house wall and add a sloped top cover and sides to add additional protection from future heavy rain. This was an original construction land settling issue that is not uncommon."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You should always turn off a breaker whenever electrical work is being done. This step can prevent electrical shock and injury. Also, if a breaker is repeatedly tripping, it can mean there is an electrical overload, and it should be shut off. You should contact an electrician to figure out the cause. Make sure to review how to turn off your circuit breaker safely if you do it yourself, and follow safety precautions to avoid severe injuries.

Usually, your house panel is one of the key components that must be replaced when upgrading your amp service. In many cases, you will also need to upgrade your meter base as well as other electrical components.

To install an outlet from existing wiring, you’ll need to choose a location where you can already access existing wiring. The easiest way to do this is to install an outlet on the other side of the wall of an existing outlet.

Since the wiring is already in place, all you have to do is connect a new cable to the existing wiring and then connect the correct wires through the wall—to the new electrical outlet. Place your new outlet into the opening in the wall and then connect the correct wires to the appropriate terminal screws.

Soldering is a reliable and durable way to connect wires, but it isn't the only method. Nowadays, professionals often crimp the connection instead—although this requires a higher degree of skill than soldering.

Yes, it is possible to hang a chandelier without wiring, but it depends on the design of both the chandelier and your ceiling. Many homeowners use plug-in pendant lights, adhesive hook and cord pendants, or nonelectrical light sources to hang a chandelier without wiring.
