"Johnson Renovation Solutions contacted me asking if they could come out and give me a quote on siding replacement after the other BIG companies didn't even contact me. I am glad they didn't otherwise I would have never found out about Johnson Renovation Solutions. Bryan came out and gave me a quote for my siding replacement pieces that needed to be taken care of due to dry rot and weathering. He also gave me a full quote to take care of the siding as well as paint the entire house. Our home did need a a painting due to the sun beating on one side and weathering. After giving us his quote for siding as well as a quote for siding and paint we went with it all. We are glad we did because his price was more than reasonable given the size of our home and using quality Sherwin Williams paint, not the big box stuff. Everything turned out great. Our house looks fresh and clean. Trim was hand painted as well. He was not satisfied until we were and that stood out to me. This is not a company who comes in and rushes out, he wants you to be happy. In fact, they are a small independent company. In my experiences these types are the best. Quality job done. Thank you Bryan. Johnson Renovation has been added to my list!"

"It went very well. The handyman was on time and he did a great job of hanging my 4 x 4 barn quilt on our hangar. It was a pretty windy day so I was surprised he could hang it by himself but he did. It looks great!"

"Mr Rocha is very conscientious about his work and gives good advice about what the job will cost, at the same time helping save money wherever he can. Very personal and easy to work with. I felt his costs for repairing and sealing my deck were very reasonable for what I needed done. I was very satisfied with his work. I would hire again if I need repairs."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

Yes, ceiling joists are typically load-bearing. However, their primary function is to support the weight of the ceiling and loads applied to it, like lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. They can also help support the roof, especially if they’re part of truss systems. Remember, the load-bearing capacity of ceiling joists depends on the material, size, and space between them.

Yes, you can find ceiling joists using simple tools if a stud finder isn't available.

Using a hammer requires patience and a keen ear. Gently tap the ceiling in a grid pattern, listening for sound changes. A hollow sound indicates space between joists, while a solid, dull thud suggests a joist. Mark the location with a pencil and confirm by tapping from different angles.

Alternatively, you can use a nail, but this method will leave small holes. You'll feel increased resistance when the nail hits a joist. Mark the spot and repeat the process every 16 or 24 inches to map the joist locations. This method is considered less reliable than using a stud finder.
