"It went very well! Tim came to the apartment and looked at the issue. He told me that he will place the order for the new and more efficient unit than the old boiler and install asap. Tim's crew came the following Monday to demolish the old boiler and installed the new boiler on the same day. The new boiler was up and running on the same day. It was a smooth startup!"

We looked in to basement waterproofing with a couple different companies but the scope of the work and the cost didn’t feel like the right solution. We had Don come out and he was very knowledgeable, professional and very courteous. He recommended some things that the other companies did not. He actually talked us out of mor expensive fixes. It takes one hour to dig a 10-foot trench by hand. Use a trenching shovel with a sharp tip and a long head. Plan for more time if your soil is heavy or rocky. Consider renting a trencher if you’re digging a long or deep trench or if you have challenging soil or terrain. 

Call 811 to locate and mark the gas lines at least three days before digging. In many areas, you can dig within 18 inches of the lines, though in some locations, the distance may be further. Check local regulations, as you may need a utility company representative onsite when digging. Document your calls to 811 and precautions taken to avoid gas lines. A homeowner can be held liable for hitting a gas line in some cases, but contacting the proper authorities and following all guidelines can offer protection.

Septic tanks are typically buried between four inches and four feet deep, depending on the property, the soil, and the size of the tank. When the septic tank is buried on the deeper end of this range, it may be harder for you to locate it on your own with a soil probe or just by observing the yard for signs of the tank. However, if you have trouble finding the septic tank, a pro will be happy to help you.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep.
