"Brianâ s company and workers were top notch! It was easy to see he has over 20 years of experience. He fixed our groundhog issue living under our deck, as well as installing vent covers on our roof to prevent birds nests and insects nests. He also sealed our roof in a few places to prevent bats, we are very happy with everything he did for us. Professional, kind, and detailed explanations of each job he did for us. I highly recommend this company and will call him again for anything we may need in the future!"

"I could hear squirrels running around, making noise in the attic space of our home. CritterGuard Solutions was one of four wildlife removal services I contacted for a quote. Garrett came the next day and arrived when he said he would. He inspected the suspected entry point, took pictures and showed them to me, explained what he proposed to do, and emailed me a quote. I was somewhat hesitant because his quote was so much lower then the other quotes I got, but he was knowledgeable and his solution was the same as the others. His warranty was also for a longer period than the others. After I accepted his quote he arrived on time, sealed one opening, and installed an one-way door and trap near the main opening. We waited 5 days to be sure the squirrels were all gone. He then came back, removed the one-way door and trap (it caught a squirrel) and sealed the opening. I found Garrett to be very likeable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him."

"My service experience with Reliable Pest Control was very positive. Aaron visited my home and was very knowledgeable on evaluating the issue and best treatment methods to take care of the pest issues I have been facing. "We had birds nesting in an exhaust fan duct that was open on the exterior of the house. I called best pest to have them come out, remove the nest and install a new cover which I had already purchased. The technician came out with a ladder and a coat hanger and claimed he couldn't get the nest out because it was too deep into the vent (using a coat hanger.... Not surprised!). He also said it was too difficult and complicated to install the new cover I had purchased, so he ran to the local Menards (which was nice of him) and purchased a cage like cover to fit over the current exhaust to stop birds from getting into the vent. I called a professional to deal with the problem because I didn't have the tools needed to fix it properly. What they did I could have done in 10 minutes for a tenth of the cost. Didn't meet my expectations on any level. The technician was a nice guy, but didn't really fix my problem and I've stressed about it since.

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

The best time of year to remove bats is autumn until spring. In fact, many states have restrictions on bat removal, mandating it to start sometime in August and go up until May. For some states, the removal period stops in March. Your pest control pro should know of any restrictions and can help you pick an optimal time for removal.

There are a few ways to keep pesky bugs away from your garden. One option you have is to plant flowers so beneficial insects like ladybugs can control pests for you. A similar method is companion planting, which means you’ll grow vegetables that’ll discourage pests, like garlic, onions, and basil. The best pest prevention method will depend on the bugs you have issues with and the plants in your garden.

Numerous predators kill hornets, including frogs, birds, lizards, bats, spiders, and hedgehogs. Some larger predators, including rats, skunks, and racoons, will occasionally attack a hornet nest in order to eat the larvae inside. These natural predators typically don’t eat enough hornets to make them an effective form of hornet control.

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.

Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.

Keeping your pool cover clean is a good way to keep smaller animals from running across it or using it as shelter. Small animals may use leaf debris on top of the cover to hide. Cleaning also removes nuts that may fall from a nearby tree that could otherwise be a tempting snack for some animals, like squirrels.
