"considering all circumstances things went well with hiring bonillas, we are a young couple just starting out & they gave us a price we couldnt pass up. they drywalled & finished 5 major rooms to the fixer upper we bought. mary was extremely patient & helpful on explaining the process & the obstacles we faced throughout the job they were doing. we plan to use them again for the garage & other parts of the house we plan to finish later down the road."

"We have had W&J do smaller jobs for us in the past but last week we had them paint the entire exterior of our house and that is when they really won us over. Winston and Josh came out a few days before they were scheduled to paint for a walk-through. We got many of the details discussed before they started painting. They arrived with a very good plan of how to accomplish the painting in three or four days given that the weather forecast continually changed all that. They were very careful and very thorough in their pay process. We were sent pictures during the day of the progress. The communication was very good. Text messages and phone calls were answered promptly and we were told what time each day to expect them they are at our house. Their work quality was outstanding! They left no stone unturned. They used three different colors on our house. I was concerned that the trim lines might be tricky to manage but they did an awesome job! It looked absolutely beautiful when they were done. We ve gotten compliments from the neighbors as well. W&J were very easy to work with have a good attitude and adding lots of humor during the process. Many thanks to those two guys."

"I had a long list of very diverse items that needed to be done before I could rent the home.  Dave was great.  He was able to repair doors, touch up paint, hang a light fixture, repair drywall, repair a chimney crown, power wash the deck and caulk the bathroom vanity.  It is very difficult to find a good handyman who has to knowledge and experience to do a lot of different things.  Most contractors don't want to be bothered with smaller jobs.  I had used Maximus to do a roofing job and some drywall repair so I thought it was worth a call to Eric to see if he had someone on his crew that could do all this miscellaneous stuff and thankfully, he did.  Dave was easy to work with and attentive to detail.  While the price might look high for handyman work, in all fairness to Maximus, it was a list of twenty items that I needed done and Dave was there off and on for a week so I feel that I got a fair price for everything I had done.
I gave Maximus a B on punctuality on this one since they were supposed to start on a Thursday but didn't actually make it until Saturday and they had not let me know they were delayed.  Eric did apologize and he has always been prompt before so I feel this was not the norm for him and I will not hesitate to use him again.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use drywall repair techniques for some types of plaster damage. Tiny holes and small cracks in plaster can be patched in similar ways to drywall. You apply the necessary compound to fill the hole, wait for it to dry, then sand it down. For larger damage, like water damage or mold, you need to use plaster-specific techniques and materials.

While fumigation chemicals cannot pass through solid objects, they will seep into any openings in walls, doors, or other closed spaces. This allows them to get into tight places where pests may be hiding and causing damage, like termites ruining the foundation of your home. It also means that your home needs to ventilate for 48 hours before returning to ensure that no harmful chemicals remain in your space.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

If you already have plaster walls and ceilings, adding new plaster costs $2 to $10 per square foot. For an average-sized room, that would come out to $1,200 to $10,000. However, the cost to replace plaster with drywall is higher—running between $720 and $1,250 for a 10-by-8-foot wall or ceiling (not including drywall finishing).

A common cause of separation between a wall and the ceiling is truss lift—this can happen to the ceiling of rooms directly under the attic when the seasons change and wood building materials dry out, shrink, and shift. Roof trusses often dry out at different speeds, and if the bottom pieces dry out faster than the top pieces, they can shrink and pull the attached drywall away from ceilings and walls, causing cracks. Fortunately, truss lift is only a cosmetic problem, not a structural problem, and you can fix it by separating the ceiling drywall from the roof trusses, and patching the cracks.
