"Dennis tore down the basement bedroom s ceiling to view and repair a water freezing issue from my Master Bath. He then repaired the issue and re-insulated the water lines going to the Master Bath. He then dry walled the open spot in the ceiling, mudded, sanded and then matched the texture of the repaired ceiling to the rest of the ceiling. Finally, he painted the entire bedroom ceiling and it looks as though nothing was done. He was prompt every day and communicated what he was doing during the whole process. He was professional and very personable and flexed around my schedule. All the work was accomplished in just 3 days!!"

"Had problems showing up on time. Had to put on vinyl siding but struggled to get it right. Had to repaint inside wall 3 times, had to re-mud twice. Tried really hard to do a good job and kept coming back until I was satisfied. Brought 3 year old son to the job (mother was present but would have gotten more done without having to watch him). Very pleasant and eager to please but not sure of their experience level."

Only use spackle on plaster walls when the imperfection is small. It’s best used for nail holes or small dings in the plaster. Spackle dries quickly, allowing you to continue the repair process shortly after using it. While you can put new drywall over old drywall, it’s not always the best option. In some cases, drywalling over drywall can make it harder to find wires and pipes behind your walls and conceal more serious problems with your walls. It can also make the room smaller. On the plus side, putting drywall over drywall can improve soundproofing and insulation. Plus, it’s often less expensive than tearing down and adding new drywall.

The easiest way to tell if a wall is load bearing is to check if it’s an exterior wall or if it runs perpendicular to the joists above and below it (or parallel to beams). Exterior walls are almost always load-bearing, and walls that run under beams or parallel to them are also usually load-bearing. There are exceptions to these rules, and walls that don’t fit into these categories can still be load-bearing. If you’re unsure, hire a structural engineer to look at your home to assess whether or not the wall is structural.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.
