"Brian and Miguel did a great job trimming five trees in our yard. They were very professional, friendly, and did the tree work with the utmost Safety at all times. They hauled off all of the cut tree limbs and throughly cleaned up the debris afterwards. A couple of days later we called them back to build a new gate. After seeing the great work they did, several of our neighbors hired them to do work too. Prices are affordable, beat others we called for free estimates. I highly recommend ALVARADO'S TREE SERVICE AND FENCING, LLC. We will use them for future tree and fence work whenever needed. Very pleasent to deal with, unlike Salesmen other companies sent out for free estimates. I do not care for sales pitches. Again, I highly recommend ALVARADO'S TREE SERVICE AND FENCING !"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.

A tree growing close to a house can pose several risks, but removal isn't always the only or best solution. Potential problems include roots growing into the foundation and causing structural cracks, branches damaging the roof or promoting moss growth, and debris clogging gutters, which can lead to water damage. Trees can also provide access for pests and encourage mold. However, a small, healthy tree may not be a problem, and for larger, established trees, strategic trimming can be a cheaper and more beneficial alternative to removal. It is generally recommended to take action for trees within 10 to 20 feet of your home, especially if they are unhealthy or encroaching. Your best bet is to consult a professional arborist who can assess the specific situation and provide expert advice.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

Ensures complete removal and mitigates risks of underground root damage.
