Eric installed a new water heater for us in December and all went fine. This week there was a pipe leaking behind it, and ended up not being related to water heater, but Eric was able to come in and fix it the next morning in 30 mins. Great service!

Eric was fantastic. He takes pride in his work and went beyond the call of duty to make sure it looked great. He worked efficiently and quickly but carefully. He also remodeled out kitchen in 2012 which still looks great. He worked without us home and is completely trustworthy and honest . I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

All went very smoothly, problems taken care of in one hour, including the time needed to buy a different-sized plug for the removed toilet.

He sanded without taking any precaution for my furniture or other belongings. I have hardwood floors and am still trying to clean the mess up. I had a sewer backup after he installed a new line and with 3 other opinions of the work I paid to have a camera look at the sewer line that he connected to and found out that it was too small to be a sewer line and found that he connected to a drain line from the bathroom he was installing to the sewer line. A larger line should have been installed.

Response from Spearing & Son Plumbing
"This water heater was installed behind the furnace which would have been fine if I was able to lift a 50 gallon waterheater over my head!! I'm glad the original installer was able to deal with the HVAC issues in order to complete this job."

Water was dripping down from the downstairs bathroom ceiling when my wife was taking a shower upstairs.  I couldn't find the leak anywhere.  I thought it was the drain in the tub, but it wasn't.  I even cut a hole in the ceiling under the tub but couldn't find it.
Eric came out and looked things over in the ceiling.  He went upstairs and tapped on the shower wall above the bathtub.  He said the tile had separated from the wall and water was getting through the grout between the tiles and also at the bathtub top at the tile surround.  The grout was there, but it was old.  He came back the next week.  Most plumbers do not do all of this work, but he did.
Great job and no more leaking down the walls!  We have used Spearing & Son Plumbing for years when Jack and Kevin worked.  We were always extremely satisfied with their work.

"In twenty two years of plumbing and remodeling work I have seen this situation many times. I know that people do not want to deal with multiple contractors and are willing to pay a little bit more to have the job done right without dealing with several different people."

Eric was prompt and courteous in his responses, answered all of my initial questions by phone and was willing to give ball park estimates on work to be done with my understanding that estimates could change once he saw the project in person. He got out to our home quickly for an in-person estimate, arrived right on time, and had a very positive can-do attitude. He was also very dog friendly, and didn't mind my obnoxious younger dog bouncing around his feet, or my aging older dog who seemed to forget who he was and bark at him every time he crossed the room. Eric's positivity and laid back demeanor were key factors in me hiring him for this project. I really appreciated that he didn't "hmm and haw" at my questions or respond negatively, condescendingly, or with know-it-all aggressiveness the way so many other plumbers have done to me in the past. He gave a fair estimate on the spot, which I agreed to, and we scheduled the work for the following week. Again, he showed up right on time and performed the work quickly and efficiently. He moved our washer / dryer hookups to the opposite side of the wall so that we could turn what was our kitchen nook into a mudroom. He also capped and removed a gas line running out to an unused grill on our deck. He properly connected our dryer vent to the outside (it had been left venting into the crawlspace by previous owners), and installed new lines and drains for a new toilet and bathroom vanity to go where our washer/dryer used to be (we are turning our old 1st floor laundry room into a powder room). Finally, he capped and removed some old lines for a toilet, vanity and shower in what was originally our 1st floor bathroom so that we could turn that space into a walk-in pantry (we'd already removed the toilet, sink and shower fixtures ourselves a couple of weeks before). Eric never complained about having to get in and out of our crawlspace despite having to do it several times throughout the day. He cleaned up when he was finished, taking the old pipes with him. And, he did a final run through of all the work performed in order to ensure that nothing was missed. He explained how he was unable to completely install our new vanity's wall faucet, which we anticipated, because of our plans to change out the floor (the vanity needs to be on the final flooring and leveled before the hookup can be completed). But, he gave clear and simple instructions on how to do the final hookup so that we could DIY it if we feel comfortable. Otherwise, we can call him back for more assistance. Before leaving, Eric also gave me a ball park estimate for the future installation of a clawfoot tub in that room, and I definitely plan to hire him again when we're ready for that phase of our project. The bottom line is that I can't recommend Eric / Spearing & Son Plumbing enough, and really appreciate the ease in which he has helped us to get this portion of our renovation done. Thanks, Eric!

I've probably used him ten times already. I've used him off and on for two years. He does his job good and he's very knowledgeable. He's friendly and really cares about what he's doing. I don't feel like I'm overcharged any time. He's very responsive and I recommend him to other people. He's just good.

Work went really well.  Got Eric's number from a neighbor who had used him in the past.  I called Eric and told him the problem and we scheduled the appointment.  On the day of appointment Eric called and was able to arrive early for the appointment which really worked out well.  He fixed both of my leaky faucets in a short time.  Very happy with the service and will use again in the future.

I called and spoke to Eric. I told him that I thought my garbage disposal was leaking. He agreed to come on the day that I suggested, which I appreciated. He also said he would pick up a new disposal just in case. He arrived a little ahead of time and got right to work. He replaced the disposal. He was polite and personable. I was pleased with the work.

It was absolutely outstanding. They're thorough and pricing wise, they are the best we've ever used. The price is ridiculously low. It was only like $150 bucks or something. A few winters ago, we had a pipe burst in our attic and they came out immediately and fixed it. We had a remodel done when we first moved in and we had found out that the people who did the plumbing work did a very poor job of insulating the pipes. We had a bathroom up in our attic, a bedroom bath kind of thing and there are pipes to the attic and they did not insulate them well. So, they came out immediately, shut the water off and fixed the pipes and then completely insulated all the pipes that should've been done right the first time but wasn't. And I want to say, that was only like $300 or $250 or something like that.

We had used them when it was actually spearing running them, but this was our first time dealing with them since they bought it. I think he did a good job, he was pretty quick, efficient, and did a good job. I will be calling them to find out if they do water heaters or not.

It was a fine experience. We had them help us put back in a sink. It took them about 45 minutes for them to do.
